I sent my S4 in for warranty repair but apparently there was water damage which was causing it not to charge as well as corrosion. They say its warranty is now void and is beyond repair. Is it true that there is no way to fix it? They wouldn't even let me pay to fix it.

They actually would, but they're not going to - because the retail price of a new S4 is more than the repair cost of your phone. (Everything but the frame has to be replaced, and the frame has to be carefully cleaned. All that labor makes repairing it expensive, and wastes their resources - they'd rather sell you a new phone for less money.)
