I already replied to you on the article, but to sum it up: You're making the common mistake online of taking online sites too seriously.
A MAJORITY of consumers don't read these sites. Of those that do, a Majority of those consumers actually apply rational thought. only an extreme minority are idiots but unfortunately, that minority is also more likely than any other group to feel the urge to comment and express their outrage.
Yes, Android Central posted on this rumor, if for no other reason than to stop people from (most likely) flooding their inbox. You'll notice that in the TITLE of the post as well as in the body they mentioned that this was most likely not the price, and they mentioned the placeholder issue. They're (so far) the ONLY blog to make this distinction.
Reporting on rumors isn't an issue. Treating them as fact is.
As I replied on the front page, you can rail against this all you want, but you're fighting a losing battle. I don't disagree with anything you've said, but Moto comes out of this looking dumb. They are letting their device launch get co-opted by rumors and leaks.
This isn't my first rodeo, and I don't believe everything I read. I hate Apple, but launching devices is the one thing they do very well. If this were an Apple launch, the device would have had a launch date and price attached at the end of the CES presentation. Instead, it's been a month of rumors and leaks, each one more ridiculous than the next. At some point Moto needs to take control, regardless of whether it "sets pricing" or not.
