1+ 3 looks beastly...

Hugest yawn possible. The specs aren't really the problem in the OnePlus line, it's that they're in the OnePlus line. It won't be hard to improve over teh Two, but the Three is not exciting at all unless there are some major departures from their former strategy.

Go on. All I know is what I've read on the Internet and that my friend likes his 1+1. I don't know what I'm missing but for me the latest processor, plus all that ram, metal body with the 5.5 inch screen would do the trick. I think I'll be getting the 6p, but when i saw these specs i couldn't help but take notice and wonder about the 1+3

The invite system turned me off too. I can understand for the first one for a while, but at some point well within the first year, they should have had some idea what numbers to produce for the phone. When they went t the invite system again for the Two, they lost me.

There's word that they are moving away from that system, which I agree with you and also think it's in their companies best interest, but I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens

I get that it is in the company's best interests, but at the same time, there are other ways to measure how the market feels toward your device without already committing to producing a certain number of units.

The phrase, 'Flagship killer' needs to be exactly that. And the 2 didn't seem like it. The 1 did give any flagship a run for it's money, but the 2 seemed to be a bit clumsy in that aspect. It's these 2 reasons, why i don't really consider them a decent player int he smartphone area.

I don't think anyone really liked how they went about with the invite system. Only reason why I didn't get the phone.

The one would have been a mediocre to decent device without the invite system and without the nonsensical advertising and if it had better software. The two was just a bad device with even more blundering from the marketing. The three I'd expect to be a very well spec'd device that still has bad software, semi-okay but mostly bad design that is going to miss on a bunch of fundementals. If they call it a "flagship killer" again, they should be laughed out of the room. To be a flagship killer, it needs to be not only cheaper than flagships, because the Moto G does that... but it needs to be objectively better than the flagships (in this case S7 Edge, Note 6, HTC 10, Nexus devices put out this year, iPhone 7, etc, etc), and the one and two weren't even close.

I think the One was a little better than most people give it credit for. However, the invite system, and other nonsense advertising (not disagreeing with you here...that was bad) has the phone drop a couple points. If you can't buy it, what good is it?

I do agree that the Three needs to be near top of the line with a cheaper price point in order for them to think about using the term Flagship killer, which has been a misnomer.

Just drop the "___ killer" concept. In the maturing industry, "killer" isn't going to happen without a severe innovation. Samsung will never make an iPhone killer, OnePlus will never make a "flagship killer". Heck, as far as I can tell, they'll probably never make a "flagship challenger".

I apologize it might have came out wrong, but I meant to say they should do away with the invite policy. It could or could not be in their best interest & it was interesting to use that system for the 1+1 but yeah there are other ways. I agree completely with everything you have said. I feel like I could say the same thing, that's why I'm interested in the 1+3. The 1+2 was a letdown & i think Pete Lau & company know that. I want to see if they come back strong

So the only way to buy this phone is to get invited? Lost on this. If someone could explain lol.

This is on the Oneplus site regarding how to get an invite to buy a phone..

You can get an invite from a friend who have purchased a OnePlus One already, or by participating in our contests and promotions. Sign up to our newsletter, the OnePlus Forums, Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, or check our Announcements page to be notified when the next batch of invites come out!
If you haven't got one yet, don't worry - they are sent out on a rolling basis and will only become more plentiful as time goes by. An invite guarantees that you will be able to buy a OnePlus One from oneplus.net straight away and have it shipped to one of our first launch countries.

i heard it may launch the end of may. if the $300 price point is true it may replace my n5x. even if they still use the invite system it isnt hard to find one if you look. i love the leaked photos, it looks like a mesh of the n6p, s7 and htc 10.

I'm looking forward to it. I like my HTC 10 a lot, but I wish the screen was a touch bigger, and AMOLED. Still though, that lovely sound quality....I do so love my music, and HTC's sound profiles plus my Xiaomi Hybrid earbuds make for an AMAZING listening experience that I doubt OnePlus can easily match.

Well the 1+1 has 3100 mAh, the 1+2 has 3300 mAh & you wouldn't expect the number to decrease so my guess is 3500 mAh

I have some doubts about the battery size, since @evleaks who leaked the newest render, mentioned 3000mah battery. He often seems to be right when detailing specs in so I'm a bit confused. Maybe this situation'll turn out to be similar as it was with xperia z3 getting smaller battery than z2, but having better battery life.
