1.53.617.5 update [North America unlocked]

So far so good, camera is autofocusing quick now. Battery life is still great. Anyone else here notice the same, nice work HTC!

Tried it on a nightfall scene last night - autofocus worked great, thankfully. Still think the low-light exposure is cranked way too high (it should give definition and contrast to a scene but not turn it into grainy daylight), but it was easy adjusting it down in auto mode.

Just noticed a new interface on the lock screen when charging the phone. Kinda weird. Has a setting called du quick charge that you can turn on/off

Should be some sleazy adware as part of one of your existing app that got updated. ES File explorer has started doing that.

No, it is not available for the HTC 10 for some reason.

Yeah I think this is one of the few mistakes HTC made with this phone. I just reinstalled HTC's Gallery and it's sooooo much better than Google Photos. I've loved the HTC Gallery since the Evo LTE, and it's only gotten better. Google photos is just awful to use...IMO it's only useful for backup and sync purposes.

Otherwise I am so happy to be back on an HTC device. It blows away the S7 Edge and the G5...both of which I tried to use. I left the G5 and went back to my A9 while waiting for the 10 just because I love HTC so much. New software seems snappier, and it's nice to see software updates already. Much better than a carrier version for sure.

What nokia3660 said, that is some adware that ES File Explorer is pushing now...uninstall that asap and replace ES with Solid Explorer or FX File Explorer or Root Explorer or MiXplorer with a quickness

Please beware. This update unfortunately also removed your ability to resize pictures as smaller sized attachments in Mail. I chatted with two different HTC technical support people and they both suggested third party solutions instead of a real solution. Also, I was supposedly the first to report this issue to HTC, although it has been several days since the update. Looks like a pretty significant HTC blunder to me. The first representative eluded to it being an Android problem, which it of course it is not. It worked fine on the HTC 10 prior to this update, and it works fine on other brand Android 6.01 products I use. No timeline for a fix either!!! I dropped the HTC M8 after a few weeks when the dual focus camera turned out to be a disaster. What is up with HTC and their cameras?
