100% confirmed - Flash and 2.1 coming to Moto Droid

I am excited for the new update for my droid that I keep hearing about... I'm hoping it will fix problems that I experience with Google Talk and my alarm. Is anyone else experiencing these problems???

As some of u mentioned earlier, I am an ex-BB Storm user as well... Glad to have made the switch!!!! As a new user I am curious what rooting does for me???

The only issue I see as an OS issue I'm hoping for the upgrade to resolve is camera force closes. Well.... that and some alarm problems. Also, multiple home screens without home replacement programs would be pretty cool. and a better browser, and multi touch, and maybe some screen lags, and I guess better battery management, and....

I do agree, I would love the homescreens. Multitouch is overrated, in my opinion. The double tap is really intuitive, and scales the text perfectly (in the browser. What do you mean better browser? I love both stock and Dolphin, I don't know how you could improve them except to have some server-side compression). Better battery life/management would be nice...

For what it's worth: I just got off the phone with Verizon with a rep who is a Droidian himself, and he says he's heard "April or May" for the 2.1+Flash update. Whether this has any credibility is dubious, but as he said, "that's what they tell me."

Now if we can only find out who "they" are, we can put our collective minds at ease....

Personally, I think I can wait a few months. There are some changes that I'd love to see, but coming from BB storm, this phone is so amazing! 5.0 was a tiny bit faster but there were so many problems I had. I went through 6 storms in 3 months. But anyways, as for 2.1, Ill believe it when I see it

wait a minute.... the world ends in 2012... aren't we currently on OS 2.0.1 ? Wouldn't the next logical release be 2.0.12? maybe this means that... Oh, I don't even want to think about it.

I think my Droid is near perfect, of course we're all envious of a snapdragon processor, but with a 2.1 release w/ flash 10.1 also on the way the Droid is still the Android King.

As stated before verizon reps know nothing about software releases etc etc etc blah blah blah.
