Yes they would. iPhone. I know you said 4G, but many reps with whom I have talked told me that they didn't know when one of the iPhones was to be launched until launch day, then were trained on later that day after the release.

Not true at all. There were rumors out the door for 4 years regarding the release of the iPhone. It was officially announced on January 11, and training followed that with a February 11 release date that we all knew about.

I posted this yesterday in another thread.... This rep that I speak of doesn't work in a corp. store, he handles large corporate accounts directly...this is what he told me yesterday...

Ok, take this for what its worth to you. I work for a very large company that does business all over the world. Verizon gets all of our business and we have a corporate sales rep that has been with VZW for many years, and I have had "on the money" advice from him every time I have wanted a particular phone for my upgrade. I asked him if I would see the release of my Galaxy Nexus before Christmas. He said sorry, NO. He inidated that it will release no sooner than the week after Christmas. He indicated that he gets notification about 10-14 days before the release of a phone to get the word out to the corporation to get all phones info backed up and ready for any transition that will occur for the people that will be getting an upgrade.He indicated he has NOT received that Memo yet. He said he felt it wouild be the week after Chrismas because it has been delayed so long. As I said, take it with a grain of salt, but this guy hasn't been wrong with the release of any phone I have wanted. So, I will be waiting as we all are to see if that comes true.

i dont understand what i'm lieing about? the tbolt release? or the fact that i've had enough of this fiasco? of that my bolt is running great now? i did care about the release but not so much now and thats the honest truth. and yes they had an announcement a couple days before it was launched, so i hightly doubt its tomorrow. like i said in a thread i started the other day and then it was deleted from here for some reason. its most likely going to launch on the 23rd, just spoke to a friend of mine that works at verizon corporate store and he said they havent receieved any word yet for a release tomorrow, my cousin works at bb he asked about the phone and the mobile dept,. told him on friday the 23rd.

In the SF Bay Area here, just got back from a Verizon Corp. Store to sniff around...found out the launch is pretty much a go at this point for tomorrow and the specific store I went to had 70 phones in stock.....needless to say I will be there bright and early, 1 block from my work.....now lets see if all this really happens lol....cheers good luck and at the end of the day remember it is just a PHONE, lol....

Not for anything, but when speaking to phone sales today, they told me that nothing was in there computers about a release & that's usually the only way to know if something is to be released. She did tell me that, at one point, The Nexus was scheduled to be released recently (she didn't tell me which rumoured date it actually was), but it dissapeared off their computers. I hate to say this becuase I can't wait for this phone, but I think we're in for another week of rumours.

So this basically proves the obvious, that they are 100% aware of what's going on and have no intentions of telling anyone.

When customer service said "let me check... the Nexus goes on sale tomorrow", that's not something she didn't look up in a computer which contradicts what your phone sales guy said. I'd certainly hope that if a customer service rep can check the system and see the release date of a phone, that a phone sales rep would be able to do the same.

They wouldn't if they felt the call center was leaking like a siv. Remember, phone sales doesn't have to do anything. They're trained... all they have to know is that the thing is available in their odering system and the pricing, etc.

Physical stores have to prepare inventory, etc. They are more likely to know in advance than the telephone area.

as of ~3p today, managers at the two corporate stores nearest to me (RTP, NC) verbally confirmed that the nexus is go tomorrow, and both felt confident that there was sufficient stock. i'll be there before lunch for sure...

The smaller retailers seem to be more open to telling more info. I went to one and they were just in the dark as us but did say it's supposed to come out tomorrow. They seemed unsure but hoping also.

They said the main stores aren't supposed to talk about it. I gave them my number but if it really does come out tomorrow I will go to the main corporate store.
