14 hours and 73% Battery remaing on Galaxy Note 3

Re: 14 hours and 73% Battery remaing

If I'm at home all day on wifi then I will get around 6 hours screen time but on 3G more like 5 hours screen time mostly just Web browsing and social networking. Note 3 is the first smart phone I've had that gets me through the day without having to have a quick top up on the charger.

Are you using anker extended battery????

Re: 14 hours and 73% Battery remaing

I'm thinking about getting an extended battery, I love zero lemon but the note 3 is already big enough and I don't want the phone feeling any bigger, I think I may possibly look into the anker extended battery

Re: 14 hours and 73% Battery remaing

I've got an Anker 5600 external battery. Sizewise, three of them fit on the face of the Note - two side by side and one across. It's a little over an inch thick, so it's a little chunky.

I'm carrying it today just in case because I left the house with 30% left.

That's the first time in a couple of months. In fact, I found it in winter coat after rummaging around the house.

I kinda like the idea that is optional. I know others might need that sort of think permanently attached. Everyone's need is different.

Turns out I never had to touch the Anker. I'm home now with 11% getting ready to plug in the charger.

Here are the current stats (pretty normal):

What the heck! I usually am getting 3.5 hours screen on time since kk. Can't figure out why!

Install GSAM and post some screenshots so we can see where the issues are...

Re: 14 hours and 73% Battery remaing

Will do. Like I said I can get 12-14 hours, but the screen on time is concerning. I have brightness at 50%, and have toyed with auto brightness and low % brightness. Helps a nominal amount. The bugger is that Android system is always 30+%. Will run down day and post gsam results. Last night I disabled Google +. I do use Google Keep and heard it too can be issue.

Re: 14 hours and 73% Battery remaing

Nothing unusual that I can see, except lousy battery life...so, I would try a few more things...(to start).

1) Try a Cache partition wipe
2) Shut off LTE
3) Look at your data usage and see if you have a constant datastream...that would eat battery.

Re: 14 hours and 73% Battery remaing

@jeffruby The thing that jumps out at me is the huge amount of time your device was held awake when the screen was off - 6 hours 14+ minutes. That's almost half the time that your screen was off that your phone was awake. On the App sucker screen, up top, choose View Kernal Wakelocks.

I stopped using Google + as I found it affected my battery.

On average I get 5 screen time
Over 1 day+ total

And my Android system is around 26-28%

Re: 14 hours and 73% Battery remaing

Thanks guys.

I will check kernels after today's use.

How should I check data stream? Thx!

Question-guys with 5+ hours screen time - what brightness setting % are u at - or are u on auto.

Always on auto myself. My battery life has improved when I downloaded battery doctor too.

Re: 14 hours and 73% Battery remaing

Another day. Bit the bullet and factory reset. Can't complain about these stats - but I'm certain the battery life was much better on jb!

Is this normal? I have screen brightness approx 50%.

Re: 14 hours and 73% Battery remaing

I'm not totally au fait (!) with GSam in the few weeks I've used it, but what I focus on is my 'average per complete charge', which is now stabilised around 22 hours. I noticed others have around the same. It was showing 1 day and 3 - 4 hours early on. However this presumably depends if you reset it too much, which I have done accidentally once or twice, or do top-ups. Your battery to me isn't great on that shot, but hopefully it will stabilise over a few days, and you can see what the average is. My phone was charged a short while ago.

Battery life was definitely better on JB! KK failed on the Note 3!

My battery was about the same I think, but I realise its dropping quickly from 100% a lot in the last week, coinciding with sd card error notifications when I wake the phone up, then saying its ok. I may do a reset, I haven't got too much to restore, and files are on the pc.
