14 hours and 73% Battery remaing on Galaxy Note 3

Just showing off here people. Heading for 2 days on admittedly light weekend use.
Factory reset 1 week ago, sd card removed, Lookout uninstalled.
Poor 10 - 14 hours average prior recently on about 4.5 hrs screen. (not totally sure)

------------
Added : 6hrs 42 mns screen at 16%.
As said by FBA and others, I would question the actual screentime, but I am pleased its possible to get 2 days.

Yes. Excellent. Just shows it will last 2 days with light use.
You would need to show the Battery history graph (with no top ups) to the judging panel to be verified, though. :D:cool:

I'll have to do it next time as I've put it on charge now becuase I'm going out soon :)

But yeah the battery is great. I have no complaints.

This thread has me tuning my phone the nth degree, switching stuff off and rejigging every setting I can find hehe. I've become totally obsessed with it!! :)

Not sure whether to thank you all for the tips, suggestions and insight or curse you for causing me to lose sleep over my phone battery life!! :p

I never became obsessed with it. Just pleased now with a much slower drain after a factory reset and leaving the sd card out. I use screen time on weekdays but am light on other things. Dropping Lookout, while its been good, has helped the battery I think as well.

Out of curiosity, have you all been getting these awesome battery life times after the KitKat update? Just wanted to know what to expect out my next phone......9 days and counting!

I wish I could get comparable battery life as much of you are getting. I found out mine has a glitch so I will be exchanging out the phone tomorrow. I was wondering if there is a "rule" as to how to charge the phone? Let it die out and fully charge or should I usually wait until it hits a certain % before charging?
I want to get the maximum usage out of the battery so any tips are helpful.

Here are the basics: Frequetly Asked Questions on How to Charge Batteries

Then you can go to the other articles on that site for more detailed information. Of course in real life you may not be able to do things the optimal way all the time, but at least you will be aware of what you do and don't want to do when you have a choice.

Now besides that, when you get your new phone go through every setting on it and turn off anything you do not need or really want. Also turn off WiFi scanning and auto network switch. Then go through every pre-installed app and do the same - turning off unwanted ones. Then go through the apps you've left on and go through every setting in each app and turn off any unneeded options. Also do this for every app you install. If Google Now is not important to you, turn it off. Same with the voice apps and features. Go into your account settings and turn off sync for all things that are not necessary.

Only allow location access, especially GPS, for apps that truly need it, like navigation. Any social site that you do not need constantly updated on, use the browser to access instead of installing the badly written apps. This includes Google+. Any apps that do provide updates, set at the lengthiest time you would be happy with. Only install widgets that really need to be used as widgets - if a shortcut would suffice then use that instead. Set all widgets at the lengthiest refresh time you would be happy with. Keep your screen at the lowest level you are comfortable viewing it and do not use auto brightness but manually set it. Use dark backgrounds wherever possible. Turn off any animations unless you really enjoy them. Anything that uses sensors should be turned off unless you really want the feature.

If in a poor signal area turn off any radios that are not needed. Do not leave WiFi on when you are not actively using it unless necessary. Same with Bluetooth, NFC, etc. but WiFi is the big one. Use power saving mode. Turn off any vibrations or haptic feedback unless it's important to you. Turn off background data for apps that aren't necessary. Install GSAM and monitor both app battery use and kernal wakelocks.

Now all of the above should be taken in context of what is important to you personally and how you want to use your phone. If you want your screen at full brightness or want to use battery draining features then you just compensate with extra batteries or power packs or chargers. You don't have to do all of the above (and most people won't want to of course) in order to benefit but those are some of the major things that can affect battery use and what you should take a look at for a start. I'm sure I've left things out but I've got to wrap this up now.

I have the zero lemon battery for my note 3. After the second charge it lasted well over 1 day and 10 hrs. Yesterday it only lasted 18 hrs basically. I just took it off the charger around 9 am (with no use) and the battery is at 95% already. I find that very odd for 5% to be depleted with no use already. Any ideas or suggestions???

To add to the link jpr posted, Battery University recommends charging when the battery gets down to 40% to 60% charge for longest life (time between replacing batteries). I know it works - I have a couple of 11 year old batteries for my spare phone that still give me almost full usage (LiIon batteries are supposed to last 18-24 months. They've gotten better in the last few years, but even current designs aren't supposed to last that long.)
