I already said in earlier posts that only certain apps can be moved without root and all of them with root

Might we ask which ones do? Out of 90 apps on my GS3) none of them give the option to move to the SD Card.

Note2 or Note10, that is the question

Only apps larger than 1gb can be moved to the external sdcard on an unrooted GS3.

See these are my thoughts exactly! Why does one need the 32GB version when it has expandable memory>> am I missiing something here?

The fact of u can ONLY put apps in internal storage which is why people buy the 32gb unit

I have over 100 apps and ALL OF THEM ADDED UP TOGETHER TAKE LESS THAN 1GB. So in 99.9% of the cases, you cannot move your GS3 apps to the SD card unless you are rooted. I kind of prefer this so that I can wipe my SD card clean occasionally when it gets full of unwanted photos, videos, wallpapers, music, and older Nandroid backups no longer needed without compromising the integrity of my data. (Always make a copy to your computer's hard drive so you can restore the files that you want.) If you are rooted, there are several apps that can assist you to move over your apps if you really want to. Apps and data in general run faster from the internal storage, so If your budget and patience allows, (they weren't available at the time of my purchase), I suggest the 32Gb device (I heard there will be a 64Gb internal storage model soon, this may be excessive) along with a large enough SD card that will accommodate your needs. Keep in mind that storing your music files on Dropbox only act as backup as I don't think that most music players will play songs directly from the cloud. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Hey, some of you are already switching to the Galaxy Note 2 (too large for my taste) and we are hearing about the Galaxy S4 next year. Don't spend too much on upgrading your current device. Your GS3 may be old technology soon. :)

So if rooted (I am) I can move any apps to SD? Does the card have to have EXT4? I had EXT4 on my Optimus but I bought 32 gb external for my S3 and didn't even think about it... Should I add an extended partition?

It's been mentioned before, but I just want to reiterate: memory is handled differently with ICS and Jelly Bean. Unless you root, you cannot just store your apps on the SD card. Photos, music, etc., you can. Regardless of what you think you'll need now, get the 32GB version. You won't regret it later. For the things you can store on your micro SD card, 32GB cards are going for $20-$25 and 64GB cards are $60-$65.

Dang, as usual I got in to much of a hurry and bought the 16 gb ver. Oh well, to bad there isn't a way to upgrade the internal memory... Arrgh.

You should never format your sdcard to anything other than fat32 or fat16. Especially if your rooted. There are apps available on xda that will move your apps to sdcard if your rooted regardless of the sdcards file system.
