ive went all day not recharging and im at about 20%. also i looked at what was eating my battery and it was my display taking 75 %. everything else was minimal.
Ive had my droid for a few days now, and i really am dissapointed with battery life. With no bluetooth, no wifi, and screen on lowest setting, apps closed with advance task killer. i really cant get my battery to last even a half day. And i dont really use it much. Am i missing something?

These are all good battery settings to use when trying to conserve, I too had some serious concerns about the battery life when I first got the DROID as well however, the more I let it die and charge again it got better and better. I can go a full day with heavy usage or a day and a half with light usage. GPS can really drain your battery quick also as I'm sure you already know, anyhow hang in there and see if your battery life improves at all. If not return it for a new one!

genetic bloom has it right - check the battery usage setting and see what it is listing. If you aren't using the phone at all and it is dying that quickly, it's either some installed app or a defective battery. If it's new and you're playing with non stop then I'd say its possibly expected. Also, I'd recommend not getting all crazy with task killers. They truly aren't needed and could hurt the battery - many apps will autorestart even ifyou kill them with task killer so all you're doing is adding more stops/starts to processes which uses more battery in the end.
The battery usage program isnt all that accurate. I am not sure if they are just showing what is being used currently or within the last X minutes or what. I was on another forum and there is an app out there called Spare Parts. It will tell you battery usage from last reboot, last unplugged and overall.
For me the worse offenders were Meebo, and WeatherBug.
You want to go into Battery History, and then select partial wake usage, those are the apps that are being used when the screen is off
I have the Droid and have been pretty happy with the battery life. But ever since I've gotten Dolphin Browser, it uses 26% of my battery use. I try to end the task and hold back in the app to quit it, but it still shows up. Force closing does nothing. Any help?
