2.1 ota!

I put the file on my sd card, turned my phone off, and press the vol down with power button to load it. It flashes " image not found " and ask me to fastboot or recovery. I have to keep pulling the battery.

when you downloaded the file to your computer, was it named pb00img.zip or did it put a number after it?

Ok. So just need to get that number out of the file name. On your computer, rename the file pb00img.zip and put that onto your sd card or just rename it while its on your sd card.

Then follow the steps from the beginning. Let me know if you have any problems.

ShayD.Life that doesn't make sense, your going from a 2.1 leak with problems to a 2.1 leak with none. Its just like every little radio fix update and things that Verizon pushes out OTA all the time.

besides thats just speculation about the rooting. If this is not the official release or if it is doesn't matter because when we get the official one the Devs will start working on root. It's just like every other phone. There is always a way in. It just takes some time to find a way in sometimes. Mrfarinhight shouldn't have posted that comment because it doesn't matter anyway, there is only a root for 1.5 and not the first 2.1 leak anyway so if your on 2.1 leak 1 then you can't root so you might as well update again and atleast fix the issues that exist in the first leak.

no offense is meant to mrfarinhight or shaydlife in this post. don't take me the wrong way.

Thank you for trying to clear that up. Everything was so much easier on the BB platform, you don't like something you could remove it and go to another OS. I'll be patient.

no way is bb platform easier to upgrade OS. you don't even need computer on Android to upgrade. actually I think android upgrade process relatively easy once you do it the first time.

@ shay. oops misread your post. yes it is easier to go back to other oses on bb or even create those damn hybrids lol. I don't miss dem days haha. but in terms of just upgrading it is easier to do on Android ,just no way to downgrade or modify..

For all you leak users, and all you non-leak non-root users, another 2.1 leak has been released. I have been told if you flash this leak you will possibly never get root. Sorry about the ota part, at first glance thought it was ota.

current root users can't get this right or we will lose root right?

yes thats correct hakoreh, if you are rooted and you upgrade to this then you clear your phone of all other data and will lose root.

2nd leak works great, installed and all the bugs I had before are gone. Looks like they are improving. OTA should be coming soon based on this new leak.

you can't change thread names.... it lets you but it doesn't actually change the name. I believe only a mod can do it.

I am running 0.3 - is that Ivan's ROM? Also I'm confused by your post. the 2.1 OTA rom? Or do you mean the newest link you thought was the OTA?

So I have root now and I flash the most recent leak I will still have root afterwards? Are you sure? I don't want to lose root.

That ROM is based off of the 2.1 "OTA" leak. It will not un-root your phone, and it has OTA updates disabled.
