Most could have it if they learned how to market. Samsung sure did..
Most probably don't have to the budget to properly market their products.

You are right about that last statement, but Android as a whole is getting there, with Samsung in the lead, for better or worse.
I will say that I am going to test my theory about Verizon. I have a corporate store nearby. I am going to head in on the 19th for a new phone.
I wonder which way they will push? Do you think the 5 or the superior SGS3?
Where is Android lacking VS Apple outside of marketing?
Samsung will NOT fork off. They just won't IF they were the only one to do it. If one or two of the Chinese manufacturers did it to differentiate themselves in the market, maybe Sammy would consider it. They are too far up Googles butt right now, and they get to hedge their bets by making a ton of the iPhone components.Every company wants to build loyalty to their own brand, not the product.
A good rep is one thing, 90% (seriously) of Verizon reps fail at that distinction.
Not me! I don't care for Apple products. Just wish Android would get a great tablet out.

The low end devices are "loss leaders". It is actually a decent thing. Yes, they do suck, but once you get someone hooked on a 12$ Android phone, and show them a $50 Android phone 2 years later, are they going to go for the ecosystem they know or don't know?
In addition, it is a product of the environment. Android as you know is open source. Google does not control what goes on it, nor what it goes on. The point is the 20 year old college kids has an android phone that does what he wants. Would we as geeks buy a Charm? no, but we are a different animal.
Customer service, and I am not really sure where you are going with that but...
it is mostly carrier based. When I have an issue, I call Verizon. Not Google, HTC or Samsung.
I would wait until the next iteration of Android to decide what device is the smoothest running. Jelly Bean was just the start with project butter and there is definetly a long way to go but Google is making great strides towards fully enhancing the software for the devices like iOS.
It's always the next one. No. That's unacceptable. Regardless of what you think of apple they don't just throw any willy nilly OS out there. They make sure that it's as close to perfection as you can get. Jelly bean is great, I have it on my nexus 7. But c'mon already and lets get that adoption rate up. When iOS 6 is released, you think only 2% of iOS users will have it? No siree.

That's one of the good things about the closed ecosystem and having only 1 iPhone. No wait for updates apps etc. No getting the newest phone then a month later and a new better phone is out. Its nice knowing ur phone will have all the updates and apps for its 2 year life

The example of buying a cheap android and not liking it is exactly what my experience was like with apple. I called tech support for my old ipod shuffle to get it reset only to be talked to like I was a 12 year old by some kid in his early 20's it sounded like. The issue was in order to have them reset that shuffle at that time was that it HAD to be registered with I believe 3 or 5 different pcs! A shuffle and a bad tech agent or intern turned me off to how strict and pretentious that company is. Kudos to them for a good phone and over priced laptops. Its not about the people not wanting to start "adopting apple", its not worth the money for a logo and a phone. And wheres the variety of different styles of phones? Same bland bleak look for years. IMO its a status symbol to most and thats not why I use a phone.

Your right, but at the same time, they could blame the manufacturer and want a better, more established phone and since they know android....
The possibilities are endless.
I have never seen a Microsoft run store......EDIT: the nearest to me is almost 2 hours....I can dial *611 from my deck
EDIT2: nearest apple store is over an hour...had one 5 minutes away, but it went under
Samsung GALAXY Tab 2 - Samsung Mobile
-or-
Eee Pad | Transformer Prime
Both have larger screens, faster processors, and more memory than any iPad.
There are others (read: CHOICES) too!
