3 Clicks, and I'm on 4.0.4

Holy ****!!!! I kept giving it a go and the update just showed up. Took about 25+ tries. So either it is a coincidence or the "trick" actually does (eventually) prompt the update.

So at this point, I will sincerely and directly apologize to anyone/everyone who was implicated with the doubts about trolling I expressed earlier. I am man enough to admit that I was wrong in my previously admitted pessimism.

You got trust issues man heheh

Yup, I'm on Tapatalk2 :)

i'm embarrassed to say how many times i tried this without success...so i finally decided to install it manually. too soon to comment on the new radio yet but i have to say the phone feels a little more responsive and the reorientation speed is almost fast enough now.

Voodoo OTA root keeper works great too, i advise it if you are rooted and wish to maintain root.

So spent about 8 minutes hitting button and nothing. Takes me about 20 seconds till the new time pops up so i maybe got like 25 tries in. Tried rebooting. Nothing. Even with my failure I offer a suggestion, if you make a shortcut to applications on you homescreen (setting widget shortcut) and open the framework there you will be able to use the task manager button to switch quickly back and forth because they are separate apps in that case for some reason. You have to hit back out of the application page to see the data back in there. Either way ill try for a little bit longer then probably wait till tomorrow and try a tad more. Hopefully it works.

Does it matter if ur on 3g?

Sent from the great city of Rockford Illinois-not

read this and thought "I should try that.." and first try it pulled the update on 3G lol! I'm actually hoping it'll continue on wifi or 4G though cause otherwise it's slow going..

I would like to suggest one change to the method described by the OP.

After force closing the Google Framework as described by the OP....power off the phone. Turn it back on and it will automatically download the file :)

First time poster - lurker since I got my Nexus shortly after release.

I have been checking for update for the past couple of days with no results. Just did this method and am now watching the 4.0.4 install after about the 4th or 5th try.

Location in southern IL north of St Louis.

Idk if doing it 22 times finally pushed it, but at 12:00 AM, I received it.

Didn't think this would work but got it to work after my third time. Definitely try it if you really want the update now. And yes i know i don't post much on here, but that's cause I'm more into reading everything.

I had given up but after reading about more successes I tried several more times and it worked on my first Gnex. While it was installing I tried on my second phone about 5 times and it is now installing. Thank you!
