So, long story short, I recently moved from my G2 to a Nexus 6P, which I loved but which unceremoniously died 3 days before I was leaving on vacation out of the country (US). Thus, I was forced to pull out my recently retired G2 for the trip. I was quite annoyed that the night before I was actually scheduled to leave, I received notification of an OS update for the G2. I usually don't allow updates to install without researching, but I simply did not have the time in this instance; and, knowing that in the past the damn update simply self-installed eventually anyway, I went ahead and did the install (performing a FDR before and after). Much to my surprise, my G2 is now operating better than it has anytime since the damn Lillipop update last spring. In particular, my battery life is nearly what it was before Lollipop, as well; not quite, but darn close. I can easily get through an entire day on a single charge again. Some of the extreme lagginess I had been experiencing seems to have been alleviated, as well, and it seems to be having less difficulty with GPS location signals.
My replacement 6P is due to arrive today, and I'm looking forward to switching over again, but thought it was worth reporting and has left me wondering whether anyone else has had this experience with the 3aa update, as I haven't seen any reports on it here. It's almost making me have second thoughts about the 6P ... almost.
