3g mobile Hotspot on 2.2...free?

I havent heard anyone talking about this, but is the 3g mobile hotspot now free? I thought to use it before you needed to call and have it "turned on" before it would work. Does it work now for anyone? TIA!

It's the same as 2.1. The feature hasn't been updated or changed for our phones, since it came with the phone, not a 2.2 feature. Of course you can still root and use apps for free wireless tethering, but the 3G Mobile Hotspot app from VZW will cost you $20 a month.

Btw Freehold nice I'm from Middletown. Got a couple of Freehold guys coming to my Marine Corps Recruiting Sub-station for PT everyday lol

What about easy tether, isn't that free tethering without being rooted?
