I bought a 4G enabled sim card, used it for a week, haven't been able to get 4G at all. Its always on HSDPA. Any fixes I can do? Or do I need to take it to my service provider?

More specifically, go to Settings, more, cellular networks and ensure '4G' is selected as the preferred network type.

Also, I'm not sure it would be relevant in your situation, but when I got my first 4G phone, the Nexus 5, I had to call my carrier to enable 4G even though I had a 4G enabled SIM.

Do you have the D820? or D821 (international model)? And are you located in the US? or outside? If you have the 'wrong' model, check to see if your phone supports the 4G frequencies that your carrier provides

I have the D820 and I'm outside the US....I doubt the D820 doesn't support 4G outside the states though because receivers aren't region locked. I think my best bet would be to take it to my carrier's service department

Check what LTE bands your carrier supports

From http://www.androidcentral.com/nexus-5-models-whats-different-between-two
North America (D820) model:
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
CDMA: Band Class: 0/1/10
WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/6/8/19
LTE: Bands: 1/2/4/5/17/19/25/26/41

Rest of World (D821) model:
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/6/8
LTE: Bands: 1/3/5/7/8/20

My apologies. Thank you for that. My carrier provides LTE at 1800MHz or Band 3 (that's a direct quote from the website). Since I have a D820, band 3 isn't supported, but what about the 1800MHz thing?
