4G outage on Verizon

Same problem here with the sim card error. Called Verizon and they said there is a problem in the northeast with LTE.

I have the same error and no 4g in Boston area. Verizon rep said to wait and hope it comes back soon. Great.

very strange. We have 2 RAZRS and one has the error and has not 4G. The other one does not have the error and 4G works fine. Same exact location.

Quick, temporary fix...

I've had this SIM card authorization problem with my Droid RAZR since yesterday at 4 PM. I'm in Western MA. I was completely without any data until I did the following:

Menu-->system-->wireless-->mobile networks-->network mode-->CDMA only-->power button hold-->airplane mode-->un-airplane mode.

This enables 3G data. The icon turns on if your WiFi is off. Works great until they fix 4G and the SIM card problem.

Uggh, got bit by this as I came back from lunch, no 3g or 4g, blarrgghh. I've been on Verizon for 5 days and already an outage.

Use caution, seeing reports of it moving west. Last one had it in Kansas. Is that near Utah?

Not really. Working great here in Utah still. Never a problem over here.

4G out for me in wisconsin, just got the red x 20 minutes ago. no 3G data either. I cant seem to connect at all

EDIT: Just did a SIM pull and now I have 1X coverage still no 3G or 4G

Just lost LTE here in Chicago and had the red dot show up on my RAZR. I rebooted the phone and LTE came right back and the red dot went away.

I opened a trouble ticket with VZW about an hour ago. Just now, I received a TXT from them asking me if 3G/4G data was working again. An airplane mode toggle didn't get it going, but after a reboot, I'm up & running on 3G again (I'm not in a 4G area presently).

Set your phone to CDMA only. When the service is back up set it back to CDMA/LTE

Thanks for this! I'm in central Alabama and have a Droid Charge, but I have a Pennsylvania phone number and my 3G and 4G have been out since about 5 pm yesterday. SO FRUSTRATED! But this immediately solved the issue, so thank you!

What is the difference, if I might ask, between LTE and CDMA?

LTE is 4G, CDMA is 3G

Oh man, I got upgraded, I went from no 4g/3g to the red dot! Restart didn't fix anything, at least I have decent wi-fi at the office and house to carry me over until they fix this.

Did you try pulling the SIM? Apparently this is what Verizon people are saying to do now too.
