5.1.1

What a nice surprise just now, 5.1.1 hit my AT&T Nexus 6 just now. I was going to write it "finally hit" but I don't even know who controls these now.

My brother is on AT&T and he got his today too.

I have an unbranded N6 and still only have 5.1. No OTA updates yet. Why is that? I thought the unbranded ,Google store bought phones would get first dibs?

Updates are based on the sim in your device regardless of where you bought it or which carriers logo is or is not on it.

^^ This ^^
My N6 was bought directly from Motorola and then I installed a SIM from Sprint. I received the 5.1.1 OTA update the day it was released by Sprint.

Keep in mind Google is unifying all of the builds. Lmy47z may be that first unified build. If it is that means any future ota after Lmy47z pushed can be loaded by any nexus on any carrier and some of the population wont be stuck just because of their choice of carrier.
What I don't understand is how we went from Nexus phones that used to bypass carriers for updates to this current state of affairs? What went wrong?

I bought my N6 from Motorola, I have a Tmo SIM in it, but I'm still on 5.1. I'd really like to have WiFi calling, so this is a bit annoying.

I have a Motorola purchased Nexus 6 with Verizon SIM. Running build LMY47D and I popped my co-workers AT&T sim into my Nexus 6. I got the update and installed. Everything was fine until I realized I lost the "Enhanced 4G LTE" option. Did a factory reset and I kept my 5.1.1 LMY47Z build and regained the "Enhanced 4G LTE" back.

Isn't build "Z" specific for sprint though? I don't think we have seen what the build number or letter will be for Verizon yet....

yep it is for sprint, but it works perfectly on verizon if you want 5.1.1 today

Well ya they all will work considering when this phone was launched it only had one build and they all worked just fine.

Was about to cuss my phone and Chromecast out for not syncing correctly and then this happened.

so here's one for you... I just got a replacement phone. I'm on tmobile. this build is lvy47h. and my phone I sent back was 5.1.1 and I need WiFi calling!! wth is this build? and will it get WiFi calling? should I keep this one or return again for a risky T-Mobile warranty exchange..

Call 611 for tech support. I think they can push the OTA update to you.

If it's a carrier-specifc update, and LYZ28E is, I think they can. Getting through to Level 2 or 3 tech support and talking them into doing it is the hard part.
