Does someone have to hit the magical ota button or is it automated?

Not to be such a downer, but I have 4.0.4 and it really hasn't changed performance or anything like most of you are hoping for...
still notta. When it's out - we will know. This forum will explode.
Sadly - I don't think it's going to be today.
I honestly think you would have a better chance of having a green polka-dotted unicorn walk by and poop candy into your hand than see this update today.

My neighbor is VZW employee with direct knowledge of the update situation. Apparently VZW stations two employees in an underground bunker with no access or communication lines to the outside world other than a single light which flashes red every minute. When the OTA is ready, the light glows a steady green, at which time the two employees simultaneously turn keys located 15 feet apart, at which point the OTA is released.
Apparently, the green light has been glowing for the last 17 days, but the keys have not been turned. Verizon has a video feed from the bunker but the camera which provides the feed was deliberately obscured after verizon activated the green light. Verizon is concerned that 1 of the employees may have killed his co employee to prevent the release of the OTA. Unfortunately, the bunker cannot be accessed until the OTA is released, because the release acts as a key which opens the bunker to the outside world. My neighbor says that looking back on it, the process was not designed in an optimal manner.
My neighbor confirmed that the contractors who are drilling through the bunker doors will gain access and be able to turn the keys to release the 4.04 update OTA (and this is a direct quote) "in the near future, mean shortly, and possibly within days or weeks."
Damn, the unicorn that just pooped candy into my hands has red polka dots, not green.
Due to patents on 4g networks, over the air updates, cell phones in general and the fact that they were given total control of the company so they would be allowed the privilege of selling their product the update will be pushed as soon as Verizon's CEO gets the OK from Apple.

unfortunately, the terms of some of the patent licensing deals require that approval come directly from steve jobs. He is a notorious control freak.
