5 x Former Palm Pre users - Love Their EVO's

17! I miss some of the things about the pre ui, but I m learning to navigate the android ui quickly, it just seems like it takes a few more steps to get to things than it did on the pre.

+1 I will miss the functionality and use of webOS, but it is great to use a phone that does not feel like it is going to break when I use it. The EVO is so smooth and fast compared to the pre. So far so good with android, and I love this phone.

18th or 19th here. My buddy got one yesterday and was a Pre owner as well. So he's 20th! My girlfriend is a Pre owner and she is able to upgrade on the 1st of July. So count her in as 20th...

I will admit, WebOS is great but this is day 5 for me on android and I'm already content and plan to be for a while!

I originally bought my EVO as a development device, but the more I use it, the more I like it. For now, the Pre is WiFi only and it looks like it might stay that way.

The EVO may very well become my daily phone and the Pre will be for development only.

Count me in as whatever number I fall in but I'm a former Pre user too. Having a fast phone is like a breath of fresh air.

Nice to know the EVO doesn't take 5 minutes straight to boot up either.

I guess I am 22. The pre was good. I loved the gesturing, but I hated the hardware and tiiiiiiiiny screen. Did I mention the hardware sucked ? Have the Evo now and whoa.......the app store is sssoooooooo much better than the Pre one. I can actually find things I search for. Yeah loving it. I will not be looking back

Me 25th.

I spent most of yesterday tweaking the phone to my liking. For now I'm using the seven home screens to store my apps the way I had them divided up on the Pre which actually makes the phone operate very closely to how the Pre did...not a fan of having all apps appear on one potentially enormous screen by default. I love how customizable the home screens are which means I can change them should the need/desire arise.

Does this mean we might get NaNplayer for android? I'm digging the beta on my Pre, but when I migrate to my Evo it will be one thing I will miss.

Love the evo! Just came from the pre myself, new to android ready to learn how root and flash roms. If you can guide me in the right direction I will forever love you guys. Thx

Yes, but only for high end Android phones(like the EVO) and tablets. I will make an announcement when the time is right. It won't be until later this year.

The more I use my EVO the more I see the beauty of Android and I actually like it more the WebOS. WebOS is a good mobile OS but the customization of Android is phenomenal without having to use patches and homebrew and all that. I just like stuff to work out of the box.

I also like the customization that can be done with the stock EVO and with the myriad of mods and apps in the Market.

One thing I missed from my Pre was the LED flashlight mod. That was until I found that the "LED Light" app from the Market works with an unrooted EVO. It requires rooting for other Android phone. EVO FTW.

I do find myself swiping up from time to time and I do miss swipe to delete. Overall, I could totally get used to this phone. It really appeals to my inner geek.
