500 GBs of Nexus 7 Storage for as little as $140

This is for Ipad's or other IOS devices only . Unless they release an android app for this it will not work.

I am currently using the drive with my Samsung Galaxy Note and my iPod. It works
beautifully. I got mine at Amazon. Beware that the price fluctuated also.:D

Bad things about Wi-Drives? I've heard the opposite about the Kensington Wi-Drives - the fact that they are solid state makes them rugged.

You will need to root to use a USB flash drive with the N7 don't forget. It isn't currently supported out of the box

These are WiFi drives, not USB, so root is not required.

Both of these drives (Seagate and Kingston) indicate that they support Android. I've heard better things about the Kingston in terms of connectivity (no issue streaming video - even different movies simultaneously to more than one device), which isn't surprising given the cost/GB in comparison to the Seagate.

This thread should be moved to the Nexus 7 Accessories sub-forum.

No leave it here, l wasn't aware of such.

There's a purpose to having subforums... You should check it out - there's a lot of good information about accessory options.

That, and leaving it the main forum instead of the one designated specifically for this type of post means that those who are looking to find out more about such things might not see it ;-)

I currently have one of these drives originally purchased for use with my iPad and have owned it for several months and used it just earlier today actually with my Nexus 7 streaming a movie with no issues.

In my experience when it works...it works beautifully; however I would advise against dropping 20,000 songs or photos on the device as the indexing utility leaves something to be desired.

There is lots of information to be had here-
Seagate Goflex Satellite Forums

...there are lots of reported issues some of which have been addressed with firmware updates and more firmware updates have been promised.

if money isn't that big an issue i would go with an ssd like the Kingston. both support android as far as i know
