5X is NOT Quick Charge 2.0 compatible, but has 'Fast Charge' technology - implications?

Its capable to be supported, but for whatever reason Google chose not to have it certified.
Ive been told that a QC 2.0 charger won't do anything to charge it any faster than a non-QC 2.0.

I've got several QC 2.0 chargers and a couple of them work. When I plug them in it says "Charging Rapidly". However, the other three don't seem to charge my phone any faster than a normal 5V, 2A charger, and the lock screen just says "Charging".

I wish it was more cut and dry on what type of charger will give you rapid Charging. I but the bullet and bought 2 of the Google chargers, so now I have 3 chargers I know for certain are compatible with my 5X. Does anybody know of any car chargers that will rapid charge the 5X? My QC 2.0 car charger doesn't work.

I just got a Nexus 5x as well as a Moto X Pure. The Nexus 5x took almost 2 hours to charge with the the provided cable and the Moto X Pure Edition took less than an hour to fully charge.

What this breaks down to is that the Moto X Pure can charge 50% on a lunch break whereas the Nexus 5X is really just a slightly faster charge.

I have some QC 2.0 chargers that I used with my old Moto X, and they charge my Nexus 5X at 2.4 amps instead of 3A. The 2.4 amps is still pretty fast, and it is enough to trigger the phone to say "Charging Rapidly" on the lock screen. When I plug into a charger that is 2A or lower it says Charging, and anything lower than 1A will say "Charging Slowly". If you are interested in knowing exactly what amperage the phone is charging at I suggest using the app Ampere.
