60 watt charging

I bought the same charger.

Isn't it weird that it doesn't come with an appropriate cable, and that we have to spend another ~$25 to buy their 5A 6-foot cable?
Was able to get a new OEM Samsung 5A charging cable off of eBay for $12 earlier this week to pair with the Samsung 60 watt charging brick. But yes I agree for the price of the charger, even discounted to around $40 at Best Buy, it should include a charging cable too.

I already have an Anker 65W charger for MacBook Air, but saw this one on Woot a few days ago for $15 and got it to use on S26 Ultra.

May i ask how you can be sure this ebay cable is indeed genuine Samsung and not a fake? I ask because I'm always concerned when I buy from any non official type store, i.e. non Samsung.com or, say, Bestbuy.

You know, nowadays, even on Amazon, one must be caution that it's sold by and shipped by Amazon, rather than a third party seller!

The person I bought it from has a 99.6% positive feedback rating. New, in the box item.

Am I reading here that people are buying new cables for the 60w charger? The ones you already have that came with the phone and the last few iterations should work with 60w, no? I use them with my 65w USB hub to charge other things at 60-65w. Would be weird for me to hear that it doesn't work when I'm literally using them to charge other devices that fast. It's when you go like 100w and up where you'll need another cable.

From Grok: Q- Do you need a special Usb-c cable to use a 60 watt cell phone charger?

Not really—most modern USB-C cables handle sixty watts just fine, as long as they’re rated for at least three amps and support Power Delivery. The charger does the heavy lifting; the cable just needs to be thick enough not to melt or drop voltage. Cheap no-name ones? Yeah, they might sag or overheat. Grab one labelled "USB-C PD 60W" or higher—think Anker, Belkin, or even Apple’s own—and you’re golden.
From Perplexity:

You don't usually need a special cable, but you do need one rated to handle the power. Most decent-quality USB-C cables can handle 60 watts or more, especially if they're labeled for Power Delivery or have an e-marker chip. If you're buying a new cable, look for one that specifically says it supports 60 watts or 3 amps at 20 volts. That way, you can be sure it'll safely deliver the full charging speed.

I tried out the 60 watt charger today. Unlike the 45 watt charger, I am impressed with the he 60 watt charger.

I plugged phone in at 5:05 at 25%. At 5:25 it was at 85%. I think that is pretty good.
That's great, but every time they come out with a new number I feel like I have to throw away my external battery packs. And I just went magsafe. ;)

What's the word on how this speed affects battery life?

Well I've been told 60 watt charging drops the charge cycles from 2,000 to 1,200. I don't intend on charging that speed all the time, it's just for the fast top offs if needed. I usually charge slow speed over night wireless.

I haven't adapted to magsafe battery packs yet due to the slower charging and I don't like it on the back of phone if I want to use it.

I am looking on Amazon I can't seem to find a small 60 watt charging brick similar to my 45 charging brick, is this normal has anyone checked out Amazon?
When I looked a while back I couldn't find anything it was weird cuz I didn't want the dual ones that I got but I just happened to see it in an email at woot and the price was good so I bought two. And I could just be me but I was charging my watch the other day and it went from 60 to 100 really fast I'm wanting to say like within 10 minutes. But I just want to see it tomorrow tell my phone SFC 3.0.

Yes, the 3A cables will work with the new Samsung 60 watt charger. I like the 5A cable because it's longer, thicker (giggity) and is designed to handle higher amperage charges. Just a piece of mind thing for me.
