8gb or 16gb

I have a gig of what I consider essential apps that I use most everyday and another gig and a half of pictures on my device. I've been letting Google Music and Picasa handle the majority of my storage needs, so while 16 would be a safe bet, I don't really see it as necessary for a limited use tablet.

Dam. I have to get 2, me and the wife. So 2 16gigers would be +100 bucks.

8gigs is cool, but 6 barely cuts its. I want to embrace the cloud but I take the subway like millions of other people in nyc..

Love the Google music "make available offline" option. Are the other Google play stuff designed that way? Like where in the cloud could I upload a movie and pull it down locally only when I wanted to? No, not buying movies from play store.

Definitely 16 for me. I don't anticipate it being a problem since any local music storage happens via my GNex phone. And movie and TV storage would typically be temporary (for travel and such). All that said, if they made a 32gb model, I would gladly given them another $50.

You know what, on second thought..I'm getting a M$ surface pro edition when it drops. SO for N7 going 8GB (5.8GB)

Given the lack of expandable storage, I went with the 16 GB...which actually should be enough for me.

16G, the price point is already where I need it to be and I feel safer with double the storage.

I have never even hit 6GB on my iPad so I got the 8GB Nexus 7. I plan to use my GNex as a file repository if I am pressed for space on my 7 and use Android Beam (NFC) to transfer the files. It's really a great solution, especially in circumstances where cloud storage can't help you (ie no WiFi or you can't use a hotspot...like on a plane).

Oh wow. I've never even considered that application of NFC. I have the 32 GB Verizon Gnex, which has plenty of space. That is a brilliant idea, using Beam to transfer over files.

This. Once JB rolls out to GNs, Android Beam + WiDi is how I'll move large files between with my GN as the main storage vessel.

Has anyone heard whether or not the N7 will have USB host capabilities? Also, there are external Hard Drives that "broadcast" your content to your devices now... Seagate makes them... With one of those, you could have a 1TB N7...:D

Even with all of that, I'd still go 16G if I could afford one... Gonna have to go on that "Ramen noodle every night budget"...

Did the 16GB version. All 3 versions of my iPads are 16GB so why not match.... Might sell one of the iPads if this N7 is nice enough.... Time will tell....

I ordered the 8gb. I'll use the cloud and my Gnex with unlimited data to carry the load if needed. No need for ponying up 50 more for storage I won't use.

This!!! My thoughts exactly, clearly most are buying into because I can I should buy camp. I want to see how many really use that much storage in the end.

I went for the 16GB also. For another $50.00 I did not think it was a bad deal. I'm really excited about this tablet and what I can do with it.

16GB for me. Going all out. Don't want any regrets on my first tablet.

I just ordered the 16GB and cancelled the 8GB, Both orders are still in my account but the rep said it would take a few days to cancel.I don't know what I was thinking with the 8GB. (Actually I do...the $15 shipping is a back breaker :( ) By the time your done with taxes and shipping its up to $279. Ouch! They must be reaching their limit, the rep mentioned I wouldn't lose my place in the Que due to my first order. They may have underestimated the demand for these things.

I liked how enthusiastic the Google rep was, we both were gushing about how much we were looking forward to getting one and how much we enjoyed our Galaxy Nexus's. You got to love an employee who puts his money were his mouth his. He said he had to pay for his.:) Lets hope they Parachute these things in to us ASAP!:D
