8gb or 16gb

For being at home, this is what setting up a Plex server is for, just streaming over all your video that you really don't need to have just taking up space.
Saves room for all the other things that you want that do.

I pre-ordered the 8GB version as I never really put any media on my phones and this will most likely be used mainly as a web browser and for some quick gaming when I don't feel like lugging my MacBook Pro around.

What's that? Sounds like something I'm interested in

Oh my android phones, I have a 8gb card for one and a 16gb for another. I am always having to delete things off of the 8gb to keep it from getting full.

I would use it for media (mainly music and a movie or 2) and gaming. I dont do much of any music listening on my phones to save battery life. I wish there was a 32gb version to completely replace my ipod for music but I guess it will have to be for movies, gaming, and navi here and there. Everything I dont want to do on my phone to save battery power.

So I originally picked the 8GB (that's all my Galaxy Tab 2 has built in)... and I really don't use even half of that on the Tab - but I do have a 16 GB microSD in just for backups and random stuff.

After giving it a bit more though - just changed my order to the 16 GB. Actually works out to the same price I paid for the Tab... which will promptly go on eBay as soon as the Nexus arrives!

Hmm, alot of people don't talk about it but you can get a micro usb host adapter and plug in a flash drive to pretty much all the tablets that are ics and above. That eliminates all the storage needs. I highly doubt google removed that option from this tablet, as it works on all pretty much all the ics tablets. Get a slim usb card reader and you are set.

That's an option, sure. But I'd rather not have some single hanging off of my device all of the time...

True but when I am at home I can stream from cloud and I can do it all day. Only time I would need this is for travel purposes, and I am more than willing to carry it if it serves the purpose. Sure not the thing for everyone, but if you think your gonna run out of 8, it wont take you long before you run out of 16.

At the end of the day I might still order 16GB, LMAO. Never know until I click purchase.

Just realized... flash will not be supported anymore: ( even tho its dying, a lot of videos are in that format.

Keep in mind that the 8GB isn't really 8GB. There's also storage taken up by the OS. Check out the initial review from Phil; he says that the 8GB he was given comes with actually 6GB available.
That 8GB sure doesn't sound like much anymore now, does it?

Unfortunately nothing for me. 16GB will not cut it for me, 8 & 16GB should come with expandable memory as standard, I could see no expandable memory if it was @ 32GB.

Yep, since only $50 more, I went ahead and pre-ordered the 16gb. If no wifi, no cloud, thus will store at least 3gb of music, and some movies, and books. Think I would only need 8gb, but like reassurance of 16gb

8gb for me just seem to need anymore than I have 32gb Thunderbolt and I have had my android account since G1 and I only have 3GB used up on Thunderbolt. I don't download anything really buy music and comics.

Lol I have changed my mind and got the 16GB Nexus 7 instead for insurance as well.

I'm with most others and am going with 16GB. I'm afraid that once i load a couple of ass-kicking (read: 1GB file size) games, there will be little room for much else.

I went for the 16gb size despite knowing I will never fill it. I am shocked to find that I only use about 4gb for apps and the like on my phone. I only got the 16gb size to put some movies on it otherwise, I would not need any more than 8gb
