Hi everyone,

First off, I'm sorry if this is a stupid question and if it's already posted somewhere else but I did not find anywhere else. I'm currently in the Middle East deployed until January, I've been using my HTC Evo LTE phone this whole time as my music player/camera/internet/messenger (using wi-fi) and so on....well this morning the phone fell off my bed and the charging port broke. I've researched and found there is pretty much not much I can do but get a new phone. Given that I am deployed, I can't just go into a store or call Asurion since my account is deactivated while I'm here. So I've been researching and want to buy a Nexus 4 because the reviews are great.

My plan is to use it while I'm here as my music player/camera/etc etc using wifi then when I get back home either sign up with Sprint or Verizon using the Nexus 4. So....can the Nexus 4 be used with any network carrier? I've been researching this on the internet too and have not been able to find an answer. Please help.

Given that I am deployed you can imagine how important it is for me to be able to keep in touch with my loved ones back home and relax listening to music and browsing the internet.

Thank you all for your help!

Nexus 4 is NOT a CDMA phone so it won't work on Sprint or Verizon.

It IS a GSM unlocked phone and will work on AT&T or T-Mobile (or any mvno riding on their towers).

Sorry about your EVO. With a non-removable battery, breaking the charging port is pretty grim.

Thanks for the input. That sucks.

Guess I'll have to get a tablet in the mean time then, maybe the Nexus 7 since it's small and powerful.

Alright, KCCO.

What's wrong with T-Mobile and AT&T? They're cheaper and offer decent coverage ( much better than Sprint's at least)
