Now. On a normal day you can never have too much cash. But my cache is 7gb on my nexus 6. I like things to run smoothly but that's Not awful lot of gigage assigned to smoothness. What should I do delete it? I'm running out of space?

Advice appreciated.

Re: A lot of cash

Deleting cache is safe. At worst, after deleting cache, some apps will have to re-download what they need, and you may suffer a whopping 2 seconds of your time to re-download the data it needs.

Basically, a lot of developers like to use cache files to improve performance, but too often they forget to implement a method to remove obsolete cache files. And as a result clutter your device.

You can delete all cached data with no problem. You are going to see that after that opening an app is going to take a little bit longer, but just for the first time.

There are some apps that are known to use a lot of cache (chrome, Flipboard...). You can delete the cache one by one going to settings, apps, select the app and clear cache. Or you can clear all the apps cache at once going to settings, storage and tap on "cached data". Don't worry, no information will be lost.
