A successful GNex Brick?

My phone rebooted this morning and got stuck on the Google Splash screen and wouldn't go anywhere (I initially left it alone and did something else for ~15 minutes). Battery pull and rest - same thing. In recovery mode, I can run a factory reset, but when I get back to the recovery screen and reboot it, the phone becomes a hard brick. A battery pull results in a return to the soft brick/ google splash screen status. Plugging into my computer does nothing. I went to Verizon and they were of no help, and neither was on-the-phone Samsung. My phone is a whopping 20 days out of warranty and is currently nothing more than a paperweight. Any suggestions as of what to do with this?
