Android Central Question

I'm looking for an app that takes time lapse photos. Not one that creates a time lapse video, but simply takes X number of photos based on an interval and length.

I've search the Play store and tried a dozen different apps but can't find one that takes a stream of photos.

Thanks!

Try this app.

Press the square image icon, then the icon with "INT". This takes you to the intervalometer function. It apparently has a time lapse option, but I did a quick 2 shot test and found both in the new folder the app creates when viewing in my gallery. This free version limits resolution and a few other things, but at least you can try before buying it.

If this doesn't work, I'll ask in one of my photography groups if anyone has any suggestions. What you are looking for is an intervalometer function. Time lapse is the video creation you're finding. Changing your search terms may help, but it seems this specific function is rare to find. Most of what I was finding were intervalometer apps that controlled other cameras like a DSLR.

Thanks! I actually have that app on my phone but didn't see the intervalometer function. It works pretty well, just wish there was a .5 interval option. Maybe that's available on the paid version.

I'm mostly a hobbyist photographer and have always called them time lapses. But have seen more pro photographers use the term intervalometer. Searching for that does bring up quite a few different apps, but as you said mostly for controlling DSLRs.

I've created some time lapses on my Nikon and "drive lapses" using a GoPro. I prefer getting a photo stream because of the higher quality, being able to have long shutter speeds for "night lapses", etc. The apps that create time lapses probably just take video and then speed it up, not sure.

I recently purchased a gimbal for my phone and want to do some (moving/hyper) time lapses with the gimbal, which is why I'm looking for a simple intervalometer app.

Thanks for you help! And if anyone in your photography groups has any suggestions, that would be great.

NOTE: for some reason, when I posted my question, I couldn't find a login prompt. It was available for the reply however. Anyway, I wrote the OP.

Unfortunately I think Camera FV-5 may be about it. I asked in the group, which is usually pretty knowledgeable, but so far most of the answers are everything I said you didn't want.

Asked for an Android app, got suggestions for pc software.

Said you did not want time lapse, got time lapse suggestions.

One person felt it helpful to say he thinks his GoPro can do it. *headdesk*
