A version of Dex for Google pixel (or any android)

When Dex was announced for the Samsung devices this year it piqued my interest. Not Dex specifically but the technology around it.

At the time I was hoping Google would implement something similar for their future Pixel line phone. Instead of Dex, Google could implement a similar technology to dock their Pixel and it would load up a legit Chromebook OS environment with all the Apps from the phone ready to go.

It sounds like a nice idea. What do you guys think of Samsung's Dex? Would Google copy or create something similar?

I love my Samsung Dex. Just about ready to retire the laptop.

They just aren't pushing this enough. They need to allow any USB-C to HDMI connector access to Dex in order to market this.

People will plug in their phone and go, "Woah, there is a computer in my phone!". Trying to sell the Dex like they are will get them nowhere.

Their money could come from the sale of Dex branded Keyboards, mice and monitors.

Dex will follow the path of the Palm Foleo (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palm_Foleo) if they aren't careful.

Google won't do a thing until someone else proves there is a market for it.

MSFT will continue to innovate their continuum product, but be cautious because MSFT likes to just drop things when they get bored.

People will tell you that Sentio works the same, but it doesn't. Sentio has some built in apps which emulate multi-window support but then open up one of your apps and it's a fullscreen giant font mess.
I don't know if their little laptop has a Dex like interface (it looks like it). https://www.sentio.com/

Mirabook is looking hopeful, but I haven't seen it personally. https://miraxess.com/samsung-note-8-laptop/

All in all these companies love selling things (duh), so I don't know how quick they would be to combine phones, tablet and computers into a single device. I'm sure there are lots of executives making sure it doesn't happen. I am actually surprised that Dex made it this far.
