About to take the Froyo plunge...

What If we don't back up the apps and flash froyo, when we go back to the market and download them again will it remember our progress or paid apps like nba game time, will I have to pay again

Paid apps are linked to your Google account, so those will always be there. The free apps don't always show up, and app data will not be restored without a backup in place

So in all of my infinite wisdom and intelligence, I flashed the wrong version of froyo to my phone. Originally I wanted

Full Stock Froyo Leak+root+Froyo Clockworkmod
EB01_DXC.tar

but instead I installed

Super Clean version 2.9 - EB01/EB16 Froyo leak root+Froyo Clockworkmodwith MALWARE protection
RIGHT CLICK AND SELECT EXTRACT HERE THE .rar file AFTER DOWNLOADING AND BEFORE USING(How to extract in post #2) -->EB16SC29_DXC.tar

which would explain why I couldn't find any of the bloatware. LOL oh well I guess it was a mistake that goes in my favor since all the bloatware is gone. However, now I won't be able to get the official release if/when it ever comes out correct? That's ok because I am really liking this leaked froyo, it's fast and flash is awesome.

My questions, I suppose, is should I "install" Superclean 2.9.2? What is the difference in the builds? I had a random reboot about an hour ago which reverted a couple of my settings back to what I had before. Not a big deal but I was wondering if this was maybe the cause? Thanks!

To answer your questions:
1) Running the Full Stock Froyo you would most likely not have gotten the official release because the updater program would have seen you were already on Froyo with either package.

2) You should definitely update to 2.9.2. The random reboots was a known issue with the music controls on sbrissen's 5 lock screen mod. 2.9.2 removed the music controls and fixed the random reboots, plus there are other fixes and improvements in 2.9.2.

Thanks landshark you come through for me again. Do you have a link that explains how to put 2.9.2 on my phone? I looked but for some reason I cannot find it even though I am sure it is right in front of my face.

Do you want to use one of DroidXcon's ODIN packages, or do you want to flash just the ROM in clockworkmod recovery (cwm)?

Either way you will need to flash the latest clockworkmod recovery (cwm) onto your phone. Just let me know which way you want to proceed and I can give you instructions for either.

Which would be easier? I already know how to use Odin.

If you're not comfortable with cwm yet, you can do the ODIN. Go to DroidXcon's ODIN package thread and download the EC10SC292x_DXC file to your computer. Right click on the downloaded file and choose "extract here" to get the EC10SC292x_DXC.tar file which you will flash in the PDA section of ODIN

Before you do that though, you will need the latest cwm, and it will be easier to do it while you already have the battery out and ODIN open. Before you flash the 2.9.2 file, flash this CWM-ALL in the PDA section of ODIN. It should only take 7 seconds. Then unplug usb, close ODIN, reopen ODIN, reconnect USB while holding volume down button, and flash the 2.9.2 file in the PDA section. Put battery back in, reboot, and you're done.

You will need to learn how to use clockworkmod recovery (cwm) at some point because almost everything else you may want for the phone is flashed through cwm. So read DroidXcon's great clockwork thread HERE. It even has screenshot visual aids to make it easier to understand.

Does it matter how full the battery is when we are going to flash froyo? The battery gets removed so not sure if it makes a difference or not

Ok, so once I back up all my stuff, do I just flash superclean 2.9 and let that wipe everything or should I do something myself with the phone.

Once you have backed everything up, just follow DroidXcon's step by step instructions to flash the 2.9 file in ODIN. DroidXcon's package will do all the wiping for you. Reboot your phone to let the OS fully load, then you can power down, pull the battery, and use DroidXcon's 2.9.2 package which will not wipe your phone. When that is done, put the battery back in, reboot your phone, let it fully load, restore everything you backed up, and enjoy the Froyo goodness.

The Other question I have is that currently if the phone freezes I just pull the battery out abd restart it. After flashing froyo if the phone freezes can I still do the same or are there different procedures?

Describe what you mean by freezes, and when does this happen?

Sometimes while the music player is playing and other times with angry birds. Home button nor return works so I end up having to remove the battery and restart the phone.

You can still use the same procedures, I would just prefer to figure out a way to stop the freezing up from happening. My guess would be the wiping of cache and dalvik cache during the switch to Froyo may clear up those freezes.

Ok, so I just backed up my info using MyBackup, put everything on the SD card. However, I don't think I see an option for backing up the videos; can someone help me with this?
