Adjustments, tips and tricks to maximize Battery Life on Samsung Galaxy S6/edge

Sometimes the phone isn't at actual 100% when you pull it off the charger and it says 100%

It is just the nature of charging cycles.

If that's the case how long are you supposed to keep it on the charger for? My phone was immediately 98% when I took it off and then it jumped to 94

Loving the Doze app, standby time is amazing, I'm currently 15hrs off the charger, 2hrs SOT at 55% battery.

I know right. Yesterday I had almost twenty hours off the charger with 4 hours and 57 minutes of screen on time. I no longer see the notification that I used to though about it doing something with my VPN though

I just started using the doze app today and my battery is dropping worse than ever. I'll probably have to offload this app. Thought it might help but it also sent my cell standby zooming upward for some reason it's the highest it's ever been at 37%. I have nothing enabled in the doze app to remain active so I don't know what's going on but I did much better before. Oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained.
Edit: just noticed I dropped 8% while in standby the past hour with screen off. This app is wonky I'm getting rid of it.

Lol only 8%? I used to lose 15-20% when I would go to sleep with the screen off. You probably have a faulty app competing with it. There's nothing wrong with Doze

No, my point being without the doze app that I would lose 0% in an hour of screen off standby time so 8% is huge to me. 8 hours overnight in standby I might lose 2 to 3%. Glad it's helping you though.

And my point is that there's nothing wrong with the Doze app and it's probably another app on your phone that doesn't agree with the Doze app

Yesterday in 19 hours off the charger I only lost 10% of the entire 100% battery life with the screen off

Gotcha, Not knocking the app as it does seem to help some folks. Guess I didn't need it to begin with anyway. Wondering what app could be in conflict if that's the issue.

On gsam does it say any apps are running? Or when you come out of Doze does it say any apps are running in the application manager?

Well, after installing the app my phone won't receive or send text messages. I tried uninstalling but it still won't send/receive. Im on sprint

After you install it you need to go to its settings and add to the Active list those Apps you want to keep active in the background. I'd suggest you to install it back and set that correctly and see if everything goes back to normal.

It worked,thanks

Just gave ShutApp another try, it seems like it becomes the control centre for closing apps, so even if you close all apps from the multi task window they will remain open until you close them with ShutApp.

I haven't tried shut app. I have however tried Greenify which is much similar to it. I don't even bother using greenify anymore. Doze automatically stops all apps from working in the background without me having to remember to activate it. And I LOVE the new feature now on Doze where it actually tells you that welcome back you have been in Doze for a while. That is an excellent feature

Yes, Doze is brilliant, but I thought it only activates when the screen is off?

I think shutapp was the developers solution for when the screen is on, but I'm not completely sure.

It does only stop them from running when the screen is off but that's what auto stop on 5.1.1 is for. Is shut app the same as greenify where you have to select it to stop the apps from running?
