Adjustments, tips and tricks to maximize Battery Life on Samsung Galaxy S6/edge

Remember that you can also use Doze and it does a pretty good job for Standby time. The combination of this 2, Auto Stop to completely close the app after a certain amount of time and Doze to prevent that even he ones you don't want to Auto close don't keep using Data in the background works very good for any Android phone right now.

What's Doze? I thought it was only on Android M?

This was recently released by the creator of ShutApp (that I've been using for some months now), so it wasn't until last week when he/she finally solved the issue where the System Apps weren't available to be added as exceptions that I finally decided to fully use it. I installed it first but my Gmail notifications weren't getting to me, and I couldn't afford that, but they quickly released a new version and took care of the issue.

Try it, it's free, just be sure that you are adding to the active list the 3rd party or system apps that you want to keep notifying (Using data in the background) it will just do that.

Nothing beats free, if by any chance you don't like or doesn't work for you, then you simply uninstall it and nothing is lost. Let us know how it works for you then.

Do you recommend installing shut app too or just forget about it as Doze closes stuff in the background automatically without having to do anything?

I have it installed as it was the first app I installed to keep my OCD at ease, and because I really like the app I have left it, but you are right, I think you won't need it with Auto Stop and now Doze. It doesn't run automatically, so it won't make any difference if you install it or not unless you keep running it.

What apps do you recommend to add to exceptions? I did like calendar sync, Gmail, email, phone dialer and those sort of apps but what do you do recommend erasat?

This is something that must be done individually as each person usage is unique, I must insist on that just go to the app and take a look at the available list of apps and go one by one and think to yourself if you really want or need that specific app to be running on the background to keep getting notifications or for any other purpose, if so, then add it.

Just one thing though, if you want Gmail like me take in consideration that it also needs other background seevices like Google Play services and Google services Framework, if you get what I mean, the same for any Samsung apps or service you want to keep active.

I hope you can understand the logic behind it, if not post here and let's see if we can help.

Doze is great, I just need it to turn off when I plug in so apps can update and upload.

Also, which services are needed to make sure phone calls are still received?

I added everything that I saw there that was related to phone, BUT, I really think this was not even necessary as this app should work only with Background data usage, not cell signal, I just did it because it's better to be safe than sorry.

I just tested it and your right phone calls don't get blocked.

Im still testing Doze, but its looking like an essential battery saver app until Android M is released.

Shutt app on the other hand doesn't seem to make a difference on my phone as I regularly manually close all apps and have blocked notifications in settings.

Hey Erasat. I was stalking themes today. Weyo is now back on the free side of the theme side. Me= downloaded it immediately. I don't think I'll be flashing the Australian version on my phone until I decide to offload it. I risk losing too much with another factory reset xd

Sometimes the phone isn't at actual 100% when you pull it off the charger and it says 100%

It is just the nature of charging cycles.
