Adjustments, tips and tricks to maximize Battery Life on Samsung Galaxy S6/edge

The Hot Word detection from any screen was removed in a recent update, it will only work now when you are in the app itself

This statement is a bit misleading I think. If you have the Google Search Widget on your screen then it will work on that screen. It used to work any any screen regardless of the presence of the Widget.

You are correct and that's what I wanted to say but obviously didn't come that way, so thanks.

I don't have the smart network switch as an option in the wifi more section. Is this because I don't have an active sim card in the phone and it needs a sim card to see this option?

Smart network switch toggles between wifi or mobile data depending in which one has a strong and more stable signal. So yes you are not seeing the option because since you don't have a sim card you can't use smart network switch

Thank you so much for answering my question :) Im waiting for my number to get transferred from one carrier to another so in the meantime I just have a blank sim in the device and am using my WiFi.

Though damn I'm impressed. Currently I'm at 33% remaining with 6h 32m on battery and 5h 2m SoT

Nice indeed!

Well I don't know what's happening then as I'm getting the best SoT I've had in a long time, very similar to what I had with the Xperia Z3, I'm averaging almost 8.25 SoT today, and that with over 3 hours of Bluetooth and Android Wear, other weekends with similar usage I've had 6.5 hours at most but today it seems that it doesn't want to die, it keeps going and going with about 3 or 4 reboots because of some changes I've been doing. Only thing I've done was too remove my previous weather widgets and replace it with Xwidgets and the equivalent Samsung Original widget that I've posted in other threads.

Take a look.

What theme is this? I like that

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S6!

Wow. I just reached the end of my first charge cycle at 2%. I like to have my phone on the lowest brightness and on power saver mode at all times. For my first full charge I got 15h 16m on battery and 6h 49m SoT. I'm IMPRESSED

Awesome SoT. Sounds great.

Pretty impressive. On AT&T as well. Already done the OTA update?

Yeah, did that and then cleared the cache partition. I have also done everything suggested here, but also leave things like location and cellular data off all the time (unless I need it though).

Also, I have power saving mode on all the time.

Hmm, your cell standby is so high. What carrier do you have? Also, have you updated software and the Samsung push service?

What's weird is the cell standby only happened that one cycle I have att, yes after update pretty much cell standby got way better. Never really there to much for me that wad the highest it got. Battery had been pretty solid since I got the phone April 8th.

Acutely I think it was my Bluetooth this cycle while at work I used the Bluetooth for my gear Circle headphones and listened to siriusxm for the whole day from 730am to 3pm. Could cell standby actually be Bluetooth since it isn't on the list?

I'm not sure; the description says battery used by cell radio but if updating Samsung Push Service helped then there's probably more there than just cell radio.

My cell standby time is very high as well. I'm on Verizon. Do you think a factory reset will help that?
