Adobe Flash question from a newb

I see all these threads about flash working on my optimus slider, and I have to say all this talk of rooting and changing kernels is a bit over my head still. Is there somewhere I can go to earn the basics of this stuff before I try my hand at it. I am no stranger to electronics and computing, but a little help would be nice.

if you follow the rooting thread exactly as it says you will be fine

FWIW rooting isn't that hard; changing kernels can be difficult but it's unnecessary if you only want flash to work.

If you have any specific quotations, ask one of the gurus...I have rooted an Optimus Slider twice and the task is hardly daunting.

I've. Had phone about 2 months want to keep data already on it can I transfer to comp,root,and transfer back?? Pleze help
