All about Incredible batteries (Replacements, Charging..ect)

Being in bad service areas affecting the battery life is a given across all phones.

So am I to assume that the Seidio Multi-Function Battery Charger for Verizon HTC Droid Incredible Part# A6730 will work with the 2150? :p

So I got two generic ebay 1500mAh batteries with an external charger for $10 and so far it greatly surpasses the stock battery. Not sure if its the new battery itself or the fact that i charged it in the charger (therefore eliminating the known charging issue with the Inc) but I've been unplugged for 10 hrs and 15 minutes and I'm at 73% with light to moderate use. I wouldn't get close to this even with bump charging the stock battery. YMMV, but for $10 I'm giving it a big thumbs up.

Has anybody tried the Seidio Innocell 3500mAh?

I'm still on the waiting list to get my DI, but I know battery life will be an issue for me because the signal strength at my office is aweful. My current phone is an LG Voyager and a charge that lasts for 3 days at home is down to 1 bar after 6 hours or so at my office.

So I'm looking for my best battery option for when I do finally get my DI.

Being in the same areas, my BB lasted about 3 days without charging. And since the screen is only a very small percentage of my battery usage according to this phone, with Cell Standby being by far the biggest sucker, I think I can say with some confidence that better efficiency in that area is very possible.

Hello, I tried the seidio 1750 and really did not see too much difference at all very little after a week of use too. I bought the 2150 from htc and finally get one day out of my phone. just one day. What a shame. I like the weight now thou. and the size doesn't bother me

Argh! Still searching for a decent case to accommodate the new 2150 & back. Looks like it's gonna be awhile before the manufacturers catch up.

Each users experience will obviously be different. Just be aware that two different devices, totally different, utilize the battery, processor etc differently. My phone doesn't last as long as my Storm did in the same areas however I am able to do a lot more with my phone then what I was used to doing. Also remember that your BB was A LOT slower than your Inc etc. There are so many variables it's sad.

Now that I have a battery antiquate, and I use that term lightly, for what I need I find that my phone lasts as long as my Storm did and I do a good bit more than what I could do with the Storm. Each to his own.

The 2150 from Verizon is an HTC OEM battery. The 1500 TP2 battery is also OEM from HTC. The 1750 and 3500 are from Seidio. I normally go with the brands I have seen people use and talk about. I haven't heard of anyone using AMZER batteries. But if they want to send me one I will try it out and spread the word if it's worth a crap......oh yeah they don't have anyone in this forum like Seidio.

the rep that sold me my DInc loves and buys nothing but Amzer. I never tried but the guy is a good smartphone geek from our conversations.

Please let us know about the battery...any issues? How much heavier? Larger? It looks like the silicone case will stretch to fit...have you tried it? Very curious because I am considering this option.

i just bought the 2 for $10 batteries from ebay. i'll have three batteries to choose from for far less than the 1750 or the 2100. from what others are saying the 1500 is an improvement over the 1300 so i expect that it will get me through my day. with the spare, i can use the wall charger to properly charge while i use the other one.

i'll try to update in 3 weeks when i have the batteries and some experience with them.

I got the HTC 2100 extended battery with new back door from Verizon. battery last me 2 days easily. Also the Seideo Spring Clip holster works fine with extended battery. The extra thickness of the battery actually makes phone easier to use in my hand.

2 days? I imagine you're a pretty light user though, right? I'm a light user now -- maybe 10-15 calls, 40 emails, a few text messages + some streaming radio & web surfing.

How much of an increase is the OEM 1500 compared to the stock battery. I'm a moderate user right now and I usually have to do a charge sometime at work or in my car on the way home. I want to stay with an HTC battery and already have a case so I wanted to know if the 1500 would be worth getting.

Thanks.

I went from 5-8 hours on the stock 1300maH to 14-16 hours with the 1750. I would imagine the 1500 would fare pretty decently in the 10-14 hour mark under my usage.

Sorry guys, but I'm bringing this on to the "Charging" part of the thread description for a moment because I need to vent... I know I've said this before, as have others, but it is annoying me more and more every day.

HTC really needs to address their charging issues with the EVO and DInc...

1. Not having the phone be able to run off of external power while charging the battery is ridiculous... It constantly runs off the battery, even while charging, but the charger is refilling it at a faster rate than consumption... So when the battery says, "I'm full!", it shuts down the charging process and the battery continues to be consumed without being refilled even though it's plugged in. During this time, the battery meter displays 100%, even though the battery may be down to 95% or so due to background activities... One of the top reasons it should run off of external power, as an example, Navigation. The battery shouldn't be consumed during this process if plugged in, especially for long trips...

2. The software needs to be calibrated better to charge fully while powered on and recognize the battery installed... I won't include the 3rd party batteries, just OEM in this... Whether using the stock 1300 or the extended 2150, if you charge with the power off, you get more time to the charge than if you charged it with the power on. Even if you unplug the powered on phone the SECOND the LED turns green, you still see a noticeable difference in battery life. I am able to power off my phone every night for charging, but there are MANY people who rely on their phones for work and can't turn off the phone to charge it. They should not have to jeopardize their livelihood in order to make the phone last longer. Being told to "Bump Charge" our phones is something being used by HTC that doesn't cost them money as it's not fixing anything, and it didn't cost them any money to come up with it because they got this "procedure" from users in forums who were desperately trying to get their money's worth out of the product...

I'm probably going to clean this up a bit and start emailing it to HTC and Verizon every day... Maybe I'll feel better annoying them even though they may not fix the issue... Sorry everyone... Back to your previous discussion...

^^^ i agree you make a lot of good points. Don't say that emailing wont make a difference though because in the past perseverance has yielded results. You have to expect that they have people watching forums and tech news blogs for issues and annoyances. All it takes is for enough of the users to speak up about issues and after a while they cant ignore us/ usually don't unless we are the ones who are mistaken (which doesn't really apply here).

keep it up everyone!! :):)

anyone see the mugen 1800mah battery? I saw it on ebay.. Does anybody have it?

Seido 1750mah vs Mugen 1800mah?

I got my reply... They forwarded to HTC, bring the phone in to be checked out, etc, etc, etc...

Good Evening Chris and thank you for contacting Verizon Wireless through our website.

My name is Stan, and I would like to thank you for your feedback on improvements you'd like to see on the HTC DROID Incredible ADR6300 Smartphone, to conserve power.

Your email has been forwarded to HTC for review and consideration. Please note that you may also contact HTC directly at (866) 449-8358 and or online at HTC - Mobile Phones, Smartphones, Cell Phones, PDAs

In the meantime, I'd also suggest to you, to please visit one of our many Verizon Wireless stores to find out if a service technician is available, to complete a hands on evaluation, to confirm that the battery issue is not isolated to just your unit. To obtain a list of stores in your area, please click on the following link, this will direct you to our “Store Locator” page:

If it is determined that your battery is defective, you will receive a free battery. If it is determined that your device is defective, your manufacturer's warranty provides an equipment replacement option for up to one year from the date of purchase. Verizon Wireless will provide you with a certified like-new device identical to the one you currently have in exchange for returning the defective device.

Certified like-new wireless devices pass over a 100-point quality check before they can be offered as replacements. Since these devices have the latest software version, they often perform better than the device currently being used.

In closing, neither replacement option covers physical or liquid damage, installed devices, additional accessories, or antennas.

We appreciate your loyalty to our wireless products and services, and we are committed to resolving your concerns. I hope the information I have provided has been helpful, and I look forward to assisting you in the future.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to assist you today. We appreciate your business and thank you for choosing Verizon Wireless.

My reply was this...

Stan,

Thank you for replying so quickly. The issue is not isolated to just my phone. I speak to hundreds of people on multiple forums who all have the same issues. HTC customer service is also aware of the problem and they have already told me that Bump Charging helps battery life, etc, and I should do this until they can provide a solution. They said over a month ago that they were forwarding my claim to their engineers... I have 3 batteries for this phone. The stock one, the OEM 2150 I bought from Verizon and a 3rd party 3500mAh battery... All of them experience the same issues. The phone does not run off of an external power source when plugged in, like every other phone I have owned, and unless the phone is powered off, the battery never gets fully charged... Between a 90 - 95% charge is all that is done.

This is a problem with the device's circuitry and software interface with the circuitry, and I know that Verizon doesn't actually build the phones, but wanted to pass this to your customer service in the hopes that Verizon can assist in pressuring HTC to address this issue. Verizon is selling TONS of these phones, but they are not working properly at the moment. That has the possibility of reflecting negatively on your company from people who don't understand the technical aspects of the issue or jump to the conclusion that Verizon actually makes these phones... Again, thank you for forwarding this to HTC, but I hope you will forward this point of concern to the Verizon technical department so they can investigate this issue as well.

Sincerely,
Chris

Maybe Verizon will do something, maybe they won't... We'll see...
