All about Incredible batteries (Replacements, Charging..ect)

Something is wrong, have you turned the device on and off with that battery in? If the phone can handle a 3500 mAH surely the 2150 shouldn't set off some technical error. A battery is a battery. The exclamation point may mean the phone is just confused. Charge rates and discharge rates are different between the batteries, but the phone may have to reset its 0 to 100% charge span. Its called the hysteresis. Basically a numerical curve dependent on milliamp v. voltage in this case. {Hysteresis is a strongly nonlinear phenomenon which occur in many industrial, physical and economic systems. The wording `strongly nonlinear' means that linearisation does not encapsulate the observed phenomena}.

How do you know that it is not charging? I would take a volt meter to the battery periodically and look to see nothing is happening. The +/- poles are the two farthest apart from each other on the battery. If the battery is not charging than its one of two things. The phone or the battery is hosed. What do you have the phone plugged into? The computer or the wall usb charger? If I'm not mistaken the milliamp charge rate is greater with the wall charger than with the computer usb port to charge with.

I'd do a little more troubleshooting before making any hasty or "I wish I hadn't done that" moves. Just my 2 cents, I always have to know whats wrong before making a move. ;) Good luck! :D It just occurred to me that maybe the phone is polarity sensitive and the poles are backwards on the battery. Do you have a volt meter that will tell you the polarity of the battery compared to the original battery?

Hey ping pong thanks for the feedback, It already went back. No volt meter any way to test these theories.

Hysteresis LOL. Hysterectomy, I read in the past, is supposed to remove the the lack of predictability from women.

id say just get the OEM 1500 mah battery for a touch pro 2. i was lasting from 7 a.m till 5 p.m not im getting till 9 p.m

this is with moderate usage like 20 min calls. 75 text 60 min of internet and 3g. then some apps

Can anyone with the Seidio 1750 mAh extended battery please tell me how you like it? Does it really add ~33% more life?

Yep, easily.

I've had it for almost three weeks now, and I have a hard time running it down with moderate to heavy usage.

It's really worth it, but if you've gone this far, you might as well wait a week or so longer for the 21xx+ and 3xxx+ mAh batteries to be released.

Those batteries I don't think will be out in a week. If you need a solution now go ahead and get the 1750. Seems that nobody is in a huge hurry to put out accessories and addons for this device.

I completely agree. The 2150 and 3500 are going to be like getting an OS upgrade from Verizon. (former VZW Tour user) They'll show up when the phone is about to be past its lifetime.

+1 on the 1750

The 1750mAh seidio battery is awesome! I've been using it for about a week now and am having a hard time killing it..... Even with heavy use! The first few charges won't last as long as when you get it broke in. But once you do the 5 to 8 charge break in.... That's when you really start to see this thing shine.

It's a little on the expensive side, at $40 to $50. But well worth it.
One example of a days use:
Took off charger at 8 am
3 hours of pandora radio
1.5-2.0 hours of Internet browsing with dolphin HD
3 or 4 short phone calls maybe 5 minutes each
100's of texts
Light camera usage
10-15 Video downloads
20 minutes or more of video viewing
App updates
2 hours of mp3 player
Still had 8% battery left at midnight.

I've been trying to kill this battery everyday. The first two days I succeeded. But now I don't even worry about it. It's extremely hard to kill with average use.

Oh....and I use "vizbattery" from the market for my battery readings.
Don't be afraid to keep your phone off the charger in the lower percentages....mine seems to slow down on the battery drain after it gets down to 20% and lower. Just a calibration issue I figure.

Josh467, that's exactly the news I was hoping to here. I think the general idea with the 1750 is it will at least double your full to dead time. A lot of people are reporting in the range of 14-24 hours from what I've seen. Pretty impressive considering the battery is only about 35% more capacity!

Well my battery went from almost full charge to 9% in 7 hrs of standby mode while I was sleeping.
Charged it this morning and went down to 66% in 2 hrs.
I figure it started going bad for me since I installed NewsBob? the RSS reader.
I changed the settings on that.
I also changed the weather from 3 hrs to 6 hrs.
I disabled that mobile connection that everyone talks about.
Finally I have my work pop3 acct forwarded to gmail, but it was set to check in the regular mail app every 15 min. Now it's set to every 2 hrs (I think)

We shall see how the battery life lasts now.
If it doesn't I need to either order the 1750 or get the energizer xp2000 portable charger.
I am going to be on a lacrosse field ALL DAY this Saturday and need juice :)

I got the battery on Friday, one thing that I noticed on my phone was that once I take it off charger the percentage of battery would drop rapidly from 100% to like 94% and then slow down afterwards, its been about 2 hours since off charger and after taking a couple calls (min of 5 minutes each), listening to some internet radio (5 mins also) I am down to 84% (this is also with Wifi on) hoping for continued success with this in the future

This is with the 1750? doesn't sound great.
Not bad, but not great.

I also lose 6% of my battery immediately after I take it off the charger (when the phone is on when charging). I'm not sure why. However, today right after I took it off the charger I used the GPS in my car, so I plugged it in to my car charger to preserve battery. I then noticed that it charged it all the way to 100% and then it stayed there after I unplugged it. I'm really not sure why it stuck that time and not when I usually take it off.

Just charged the standard battery at 12:18 pm.
At 1:50 I am down to 86% after one phone call, one website visit and a few txts.
a few emails later and at 2:50 I am down to 80%

Looks like I will be ordering the seidio battery.

I had the Seido battery in hand before I even had my Incredible, so I have no "stock" battery experience, but I can say that with the Seido battery, this phone has the best battery life of any phone I've had in the past 2 years. I don't know why or how, because my only concern with buying this phone was poor battery life, but under pretty heavy usage (since I JUST got the phone), I've gotten 2 full days of use with about 30% left. It doesn't make any sense, but I love it. I have GPS and WIFI and 3G always on, screen brightness on automatic and every service I use (such as Twitter, Facebook, etc.) on a 2-hour update interval, except for Weatherbug which is on 30-minutes. Other than that, I use Screebl and that's about it. Plenty of widgets on my homescreens and I use the device a good bit. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!!!!

Does it run hot?

Just got the email from Amazon that my battery shippped. They had been estimating June 1, so I'm happy to be getting it earlier. I had a full charge this morning at 8am. Here at 3:30, I'm down to 30%. After work I'm heading to the gym, and I'd LIKE to watch a movie or listen to some tunes...30% ain't gonna cut it.

35% more juice should be able to make it work for me. Keeping the existing form factor is just a bonus!

So I read through all the posts, and it sounds like there is nothing "special" I can do with a Lithium-ion battery to condition it well during the first 5-6 charges. I just charge it to 100% when I get it, then run it out to under 30%, then charge back to 100%...right?

Using original battery. Tried all the tricks to extend battery life. Only thing that works is to go to settings-->Accounts & Sync--> uncheck "Auto-sync".

On my first replacement phone. Original power supply was fried & phone wouldn't charge. New one is working ok.

Phone is awesome but too bad I need to manually update e-mails for the battery life to be within reason. Blackberry still clearly has an edge in this crucial area. I'll keep the phone for the nice screen & existing and future android goodies. Can't wait for the 2.2 hotspot feature.
