All about Incredible batteries (Replacements, Charging..ect)

Whew I got my battery, 1750 Seidio, in from Amazon today via USPS. Ordered last week during the 2 hour window that they weren't on back order! So tonight, or when the battery dies I'll be doing my first 8 hour charge! Hopefully by the end of the week I should have the 5-6 cycles done and see a dramatic improvement in battery life. We shall see!

So when you get a new battery, make sure you fully charge it and leave it on the charger for the first 8 hours, phone off! Then use it till it gets below 20% then fully charge again. Repeat the cycle 5-6 times and it should then be at peak charging condition from that point on. I'm probably going to follow what people suggest though and about once a month kill the battery off and do a full recharge overnight again to "reset" the battery and the phone.

Same form factor + more battery life is well worth the 40-50 dollar price in my honesty opinion. If this isn't enough for me I'll be waiting on the 2150 and give it a try, but I think this should be more than enough power for my usage. Take it for what it's worth.

I wish I could give you MY opinion on either jumping the fence or not. But I can not give an honest account until probably next week once the new Seidio has gone through several charge cycles and leveled out a bit.

BUT from what I have read you can't go wrong. Worst case scenario you only get 2 hours more power than what you have now, so if you got the extra cash and are willing to spend it, it's technically a no lose situation!

My Incredible is currently sitting here connected to a blackberry charger. Hoping to get enough juice to make it through the gym. at 65% now..so I think I'm good.

But still, any phone worth it's salt needs to be able to go 12 hours a day. That's just common sense. I love the phone, but I don't want to have to charge it at home, in my car, at work, in my car, at home...every day.

Still, it's a nice jump up from the POS Samsung i760 I had.

I ordered the battery and am sending it back LOL.
I am going with an external portable charger because it will also help when my wife needs to charge her envTouch.

HTC I'm not sure about, I know Verizon has a 2150 in the works, Seidio has the 1750 and a 3500 in the works too.

that was pretty much the basis of my question. I know that verizon is all up tight about "dont void the warrenty blah blah blah" so i figured the one they were planning on releasing might be HTC made. Any ideas?
i wonder if the 2150 will need an extended back?

that was going to be my next question haha

hi! as a newbie I'd like to recommend something that's given me a couple extra hours a day: settings>wireless & networks>mobile networks(set options for roaming, networks)>enable always-on mobile data

I'm really not even sure what this does, but it seems like the phone stops streaming data unless you actively choose to by switching homescreens, using apps, etc.

I'm also not sure if anybody said this, but like I said, it works for me. I can get around 7 hours WHILE playing music the entire time and around 13 if I choose not too

Khris, not to get to "attack-ish" on you. But you may want to start by reading some of the other posts in the forum. THEN do posts in the forums. Thanks for the tips, but this was covered, I think even in this thread, multiple times.

well I know as a general rule, when you're new to a forum its a good idea to see if a topic is covered already. but considering there's 50+ pages in this one I was willing to risk looking stupid.

but I was just trying to help my fellow Inc owners :)

I understand 8-)

i'm having a problem charging my battery. i'm trying to bump charge it (charging it to green, turning it off and recharging it). my problem is when I turn my phone off after it turns green, and replug the charger, it flashes orange LED instead of a solid orange. I don't think this is suppose to happen... any ideas? if it helps, i'm using a rocketfish charger from best buy and a seidio extended battery.

yea it shouldnt flash. might be your charger or battery. try charging the original battery with the charger. if that works ok it might be the battery.

Assuming you don't have a message waiting that would cause it to flash....

Flashing orange in that case means there are charging issues. Turn off, pull the battery, wait a couple of minutes, put battery in, power on and let the phone set up. Is it still flashing?

If yes, the battery has a problem.

If not, plug in. Does it flash?

If yes, the battery has a problem or the charging system has a problem.

After sending in a battery complaint to HTC a week ago, I got this today....

1. I find it interesting that HTC is recommending the on and off "bump charge" method. I was concerned that this method I read about may be pushing the limits of the of the device or battery past safe. I wonder if battery life could then be improved by a software or firmware update, since that controls when the charge stops and the light and display changes.

2. I followed the link they provided and found them to be out of stock already. The item description does not give the batteries rating so I had to call them. After getting bounced back and forth, they found that the extended battery is 2150mA and needs a larger door. THey also said it will be in stock mid June.

More info for the pot........

Well that's interesting. It also shows me that HTC is paying attention to the forums. I can't believe they are actually giving that as a solution though. Interesting.

Lol! That's really funny that they cited a method that has been recommended here Hahhaha. I'm definitely happy to see that HTC is paying attention and are aware of the issue, that's pretty cool.

Thanks for the input gcims!
