All Note 3 4.4 KitKat owners report in here.

So since 4.4 has been out for a bit longer for the Note 3, anyone have some updates?
It could just be me, but I have noticed a bit of a influx in threads being created regards to battery drain and hotter battery temperatures. But once again, that is not a hard fact of stat, just my noticing.

So far so good for me. Battery seems ok. 2 percent used in 4 hours since I woke up. No problems yet.

I'm good on idle with data and wifi turned off, but in use is still draining faster than on 4.3. No other glitches.

Not sure if it's been released for AT&T, yet. Anyone know if we can stop the update or decline it?

Thing I got was all Google account sync boxes were ticked after install, including Picasa sync which I didn't know was there. At the same time it would not sync, with a red account box preventing me from going in to account settings, saying a temporary error. Finally cleared and I was helped to find and untick Picasa sync. It had been giving me constant notifications to agree to Picasa and sync errors for a few hours. So it may reset some defaults.

It completely borked 2 new Note 3's on T-Mobile. I had to exchange it a third time for one with 4.3 still loaded and i'm not having the horrendous battery life issues I had with KitKat.

On a plus side, Saved Pages is back on the stock browser. I missed it from 4.1.2. Bye Bye Pocket.

Thanks for this info.
This is mainly what I am worried about. I know it's hit or miss, but it still worries me.
Why fix what is not broken, I think I will end up staying on 4.3 for as long as possible.

I almost had to yell at the T-Mobile guy on why I wanted to exchange my Note 3 with KitKat issues when he basically said "Sounds normal to me battery wise and your battery life for 12 hours seems normal, what is you want this phone to do?"

I want this phone to function like it did on Jelly Bean without this crap battery drain, wifi dropping, cellular coverage bouncing and crap file management system, thats what I want the phone to do!

Needless to say, im gonna stay on Jelly Bean come hell or high water after these last frustrating 2 weeks...

Haha I don't blame you. The least knowledgeable people about smartphones are those working in the carrier stores selling them!
At least you finally got through to them!

There seems to be quite a few issues with KitKat and Samsung phones. A few colleagues of mine have updated their S4's and I've seen some of the issues such as the screen not waking/unlocking right away (normally a 4 or 5 second lag), battery life not as good as it was on 4.3, and the phones get hot. I have witnessed all of these first hand and is the reason I will ignore the update when it comes to my S4, I'm on Verizon. I also did not sell my iPhone when I upgraded to the S4 and I'm glad I didn't. At this rate with all these problems I may need it again :(

I'm really hoping the carriers and Google get these issues straightened out.

Updated to KitKat a few days ago in the UK, everything is working fine. No issues at all, which is nice to see. Battery definitely lasts longer and phone runs smoother.

Apart from the obvious UI changes, some transitions are different and I'm liking the smaller icon bar, as well as the fact that it dims when going onto apps which is a nice feature.

I was just talking with my brother in law and he updated his S4 already too. He is saying that his phone has slowed down quite a bit. Whenever waking the phone from the lock screen it will take a couple seconds. Then it will take another for the clock to change to the right time.
Now the question is, any way to perhaps try and fix this? Gonna wipe the cache, and if that doesn't work, a factory reset...
It's not like we can downgrade anymore since Samsung has started installing Knox on everything!

I've had the update for a few days now. My battery lasts for 2 days on light use. Snappy, no issues at all. Wonder if the carriers are screwing with the update. I'm on Bell in Canada and phone works better than on Jelly Bean.

I see a lot of TMo people with complaints. I'm on Sprint and other than some battery drain (nothing awful just noticeably increased battery drain from 4.3) my Note 3 is snappier and no other problems. The SD card thing isn't a problem, I can still move my pictures to SD card for the Camera Fx app, stock camera app still saves to SD card. All my music is on SD and works fine with Power Amp Pro. I think TMo messed with the code a lot more than Sprint. Just my observation.

Yes I have had no issues so far in 5 days on a factory sim free EU N9005. Had to wait a day for Picasa to unstick from Google accounts sync which I never used before. Notice slight visual differences here and there and some apps display differently, better drop down menus etc. The unstable wifi has improved if not completely disappeared.
Early days, but it's still the same phone I was used to. Hallelujah!

I feel for you guys, really! Those horror stories had me determined not to update. Then someone mentioned there was a wifi cure in there.
One evening KitKat was sitting there on my laptop, my phone was cabled in. I was watching TV. Then my hand started to move.....

So heres some real comparison results from how my last 2 new Note 3's were behaving battery wise on KitKat vs how my 3rd replacement Note 3 battery usage is on the stock Jelly Bean 4.3 out of the box from the T-Mobile Store.

Again, the results on the KitKat battery drain was attempted to be fixed doing the following on both Note 3's I had with no change in battery draining usage. So for those of you stating I did something "wrong* or didn't "try" to troubleshoot this problem on two different brand new Note 3's can bite me, hard.

1. Cleared partition cache after Kitkat update as well as factory reset on both Note 3's on Kitkat
2. Two different SIM cards
3. Tried with and without A-Data microSD card. Did not format SD card due to large amounts of personal data.
4. Factory reset and rebuilding after Kit Kat update
5. Forcefully stopping Knox and Lookout from running in background
6. Yanked out battery and reinstalled after 3 minutes along with reseating SD card

Still good - except :
Is anyone getting this "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" pop up box?
I mean "Settings"!
It's like a freeway / motorway matrix sign saying "This sign is not functioning. Don't look up."
5 times today. After OK it defaults to the 1st Connections tab.
I won't get the ceremonial sword out yet.

**Update: cured with battery and sd pull **
