Yes but the reason it was $50 instead of $100 and up. Is because they gave you a refurbished phone. I had that kind of insurance on my own plan. But if you get the right insurance like TechProtect though Verizon(find a retailer that sells it before you buy a phone there) instead of Asurion and others, the give you a new phone straight from the store vault for a fraction of the full retail of the phone.

I got the G2 when it first came out, and within 2 days, I ended up with a cracked screen - nearly shattered from a ~1.5 foot fall. I was disappointed, but luckily got a new one under insurance. However, ever since then I've had the High Gloss Silicone Cover for LG G2- Black and dropped it dozens of times - no issues since - which is surprising since the case is barely there.
