..well, I've finally saved my nickles and dimes for long enough, so I'm ordering the XL in the next couple of days..and with the savings of $50 (Canada) off the ticket price, it's now only "ludicrously overpriced" ..I'm done waiting!
My question, do you think the current promotions are just to clear out stock of the finicky displays, to make room for a tighter quality one? Should I wait to after the promotion ends (March17th)? Or am I just over thinking this?

well... if they are clearing stock..it would be for a hypothetical pixel 3 /3xl later in the year....
But those are going to be at a premium price, compared to the discounted one that you can get now.

You're overthinking it. I'd think by now they've sold out their first production run. I got mine in early December, took a look at the display, tilted it this way and that way, saw a slight blue tint and haven't thought about it since (except for when I read this forum, HA!)

I doubt they are clearing stock...most likely you will just have to play the display roulette we did. My first one was great so I got lucky.

..thanks for the replies guys. Even if there is a blue tint, I'm sure I'll be a happy camper overall.
..at least for a few months, until my wandering eye begins lusting after the "next" thing.
