That is the bug I'm referring to. On A11 Assistant would turn it on whether by telling it to or by running a routine. Now it doesn't. If you would do a issue report for that bug. The more the merrier.. and useful to get it fixed. On my Pixel 4XL when I ask Assistant to turn on DND it displays a popup with an On/Off slider to turn on DND, but does not automatically turn it on. I'm not sure what the process was before beta, I don't think I ever asked Assistant to enable DND
Not sure what you mean by ambient weather display is fixed. What was wrong with it?Well, when Android 12 beta 2.1, thankfully, the lock screen and always on ambient display weather is finally fixed. And maybe just maybe material you auto theming might be fixed a little bit more as well. What is everyone else here think?
Something named dex2oat64 (with an Android symbol next to the name) is killing my battery this morning, after installing the new beta update last night. I've already lost 14% in 2 hours by that app/process
I have no idea, never heard of it or seen it beforeYeah, me too. What is that process then?

I noticed this yesterday and did a search. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/26254538/difference-between-dexopt-and-dex2oatYeah I was wondering the same thing now done to think about it. Do you have your always on ambient display turned on. Basically under lockscreen settings always turned on? MHMM I'll have to submit a bug report to Google via the Android 12 beta feedback regarding this.

There are a whole lot of articles on this and battery drain. The gist I got was this updates apps when a system install occurs and should go away sometime. Now if I understood everything (or even a tiny bit) in that article I would be working for Google and making a stack of $$$$$$.I mean very interesting information on this. However, do you actually understand what it's raining about there? Lol unfortunately, seems mostly gibberish to me...that's the thing about it...
It says for performance run-time. Does that mean it's not supposed to effect our battery life?

Battery drain seems to be a major complaint going back several years.
Can't stop the process by going into battery and then apps.Well, I mean with that one time process, I wonder if it'll actually run our batteries on faster. I mean in beta 2 my battery was fine. So we'll have to take a gander at what is actually happening. I've already reported this to the beta program feedback.

Hopefully it will settle down after a while.
