I haven't seen that in my list of apps either and since this last update my battery life is back to how it was on A11. Back to nearly 2 days life. Currently at 51% after 1 day 2 hours.

Well, that's always good to know. After I fully cycle my battery tonight, I'll report back to how my battery is going forward.

Although, I will say that on a normal day when I'm using my laptop more than my phone, And after 8 hours of my office, my battery is at about 65 to 70%. Not too too bad still.

Battery life is amazing again.

See now, I just fully cycled my battery and so far this is what I'm getting. So far, not too too shabby. I'm so we know that I haven't even drained my battery all the way down to zero. I've only drained it to the lowest thing at 23% which was last night. I should just drain it all the way down. It's not healthy for the bad rate not to do that.

That post you quoted was #450, posted over three days ago.
There's been a lot of posts under the bridge since then. No need to repeat what I have already posted.

I'm sorry, but what are you talking about? I just found that post the other day. Lol. I'm just saying that isn't it interesting that material you auto theming looks better in light theme versus dark theme on Android?

You already replied to that post, your post #451.
Anyway. Other than the issues I've posted all else seems to fine.

Oh, Gotcha gotcha. Yeah, other than that issue nothing else seems to be an issue. I am however testing always on ambient display turned off to see how much battery that actually saves. In the lock screen settings of course.

One of the things I do like about 12 is the quick tiles. I like how they scroll now, scrolling thru info in each card. Kind of reminds me of a Linux server dashboard GUI.

Yes, I can definitely see that. For me, the material you auto theming got better. Although maybe just me but sometimes when I Take my picture by then and they're charging kids coming They don't always connect right away to Bluetooth on my phone. But that's very trivial. Like I said before, I am testing turning off always on ambient display from the lock screen to see if that saves a significant amount of battery power.

I find the scrolling to be a bit annoying and useless feature. I would prefer a static display. Hopefully a way to turn that off will be provided for choices.
Different strokes and all that.

Well, here's an interesting idea. Turning off always on ambient display on the lock screen settings, it does say users more battery power. However, it uses a significantly more battery power I'm still shocked. I know these better sets don't tell the tail but my phone is going on and then a half of juice on one charge versus being at 50% during the day with heavy usage.

As last ng as my phone gets me through a normal day, off the charger between 5 - 6 AM and back on the charger between 10 - 11 PM, I don't worry too much about it. I'm gonna charge it every night while I sleep. When it can't get through a day that's when I start investigating. That's just my philosophy though.

Yeah I know I know. See for me I'm much more anal/type about my battery life considering that we have a 4,080 mAh battery in the Pixel 5. And it's supposed to you got a day in after 2 days per charge. So I keep on tweaking settings to get the longest battery life for charge. And I'll say that that always on ambient display under the lock screen settings you wouldn't think it makes a difference, but it does.

Liking the material you feature the way the wallpaper color carries over to the Lock Screen clock and what not but it seems the wallpaper needs to be 100% one color for it to work. Defaults to white otherwise. I have a wall with about 80% sky blue and 20% misc color but material you doesn’t pick up the dominant color, doesn’t know what to do so just defaults to white. Hope this gets worked out in future releases as this feature is awesome.

Yeah I know what you mean. Im sure from Beta 3, and in the future, material you auto-theming will get better at picking up the colors.

I got spoiled by notification lights and Moto's ambient displays.... I really like having a notification that tells me I missed something on my phone. But as of now I'm just not willing to give up the battery life for the always on display :-\

I do like Scott's philosophy though.....as long as it gets you through the day don't sweat it :p In fact I might turn AOD back on just to treat myself lol.

Hahaha got me yes, I understand what you mean. I mean having they always on display is the only spirit I should realize no matter which OS platform you're on how much battery it does drain per charge. Yeah granted you can't charge your phone every night but I don't like I said with a 4,080 mAh battery, it is nice for me to push my battery to see how long it'll last until. Usually what I do is when I get to my phone and I'm checking it if I was away from it for a couple of minutes, I'll always just unlock it with the fingerprint scanner and go from there. There's no point in tapping on the screen because even if you want to interact with your phone at all you have to unlock it so might as well just unlock it with fingerprint scanning and you're from there If you know what I mean?

You know, as I'm I think about it more and more, even as anal and crazy as I am about getting the maximum amount of battery life for charge, you have to weigh the pros and cons of which OS features being the most deep. I just realized that I love having the AOD on. It's really helpful / useful feature and having 5% of my battery for isn't too too big of a deal at the end of the day. Still getting a day and a half of battery out of a charge which is great. It is really great to just be able to glance at the time, day, weather, and any current running notifications and battery life quickly without having to light up your lock screen or unlock your phone every 20 seconds. That is the point of it at the end of the day.

Maybe it's just me, but light mode looks lightly better with Material You auto-theming.

That’s strange, mine doesn’t ever default to white. It doesn’t always choose the color I wish it did but it does pick a color from the wallpaper.
