Android 13 - Battery drain

Maybe try safe mode could be rouge app ?
Not sure how safe mode will allow me to identify a rogue app? I tried it and it seems to disable everything but google apps, so how would I know which of the other 40 apps or whatever is causing issues?

So when in safe mode as you experienced it disables 3rd party apps so while testing in safe mode if battery drain disappeared then you know its something to do with 3rd party app or application, now to determine which one thats a longer process u need to uninstall one at a time or few until battery life gets better, not only that it could be a recent update to a app thats not coded right to Andriod 13 but you would have to uninstall the update to that said app but tracing isn't going be easy

Does it persist if you clear the app cache/data for Google, then Force Stop it?

Honestly I don't know what's to be done at this point except hope Google releases a fix soon. You can't even downgrade to Android 12 anymore.

It may have made a slight difference. Normal usage is getting me 12 hours. I think it was 10 hours previously. Still quite a difference from Android 12, where I'd get 14 to 16 hours easily.

Alright, gonna try safe mode this morning and see how it goes...I should notice a difference in just a few short hours on idle battery drain.

Interestingly, safe mode disables Google Home, which is strange given that it's google's own app. Go figure.

So this was a complete and utter failure. My battery drained 10% in about 90 minutes. I only used google maps for about 20 of those minutes, then light usage with Chrome....something is wrong.

What's your cell signal like? Does it also drain like that in Airplane Mode?

My cell signal is not that great, but it hasn't changed since I've had the phone. The battery drain was never this bad on Android 12 with the same cell provider I've always had.

Right, but it still might help to pinpoint the general problem. If the battery drain goes away in Airplane Mode, that would suggest it's a bug related to cell reception.

I noticed today under the Battery section that I'm not getting told how much battery I have left

I forgot that. It was already missing when I was not charging, but rebooting resolved it.
