[Android 5.1] How to disable the separate alarm volume control

I would like to first thank the android OS developers who thought it would be a great idea to have their devices have a separate audio control for the ringer, media and alarm.

You added a really useless feature that should not exist. On top of that, I now have to shell out $140 dollars for missing an important appointment. Thanks a lot OS developers. And yes, my alarm was set and my phone was not in silent mode. In fact three alarms were set 5 minutes apart from each other just in case.

Anyways, as the heading of the post asks, I would like to know how (if possible) if there is a way to permanently lock the alarm volume on high or disable the feature modifying the volume entirely. Prior to Android 5.0, this was not an issue and my alarm went off regardless.

Multiple alarms were set and did not go off due to not realizing that having the phone off of silent mode does not mean that the alarm is off of silent. Any help with regards to this issue is greatly appreciated.

Re: [Android 5.1] How to disable the separate alarm volume control

Welcome to Android Central! Interestingly, there are also many people who would want separate volume controls, because people don't always want their ringer to be the same volume as their alarms or media. There are plenty of times where the ringer volume needs to be pretty high, especially if the phone is in a purse or pocket--but if putting the ringer volume on high also means the alarm volume is on high, then alarms might blare too loud in the morning and jar people awake in an unpleasant manner.

The best advice I have is that when you set an alarm, always double check the the alarm tone and volume.
