Hi folks,

Has anyone else noticed issues with wifi running constantly, even after turning it off, and turning off wifi scanning in locations. It's just killing the battery so is there a setting that I'm missing?

Yes, I'm suffering the SAME EXACT issue! At least it's not only me. The betas didn't have the problem.

I'm going to see how it fares after a full charge and reboot.

still actively being used, although if I look into history details this time, I don't see wireless showing up there, but in the basic details, it's showing as the top with 12% use, and 436 mAh used so far. What I'm hoping, but not holding my breath on, is that it will slowly learn habits and reduce the usage over time, but Honestly, if I turn off wireless, I really don't want it used....period.

Sorry, not enough posts for links. :-(

I'm not using my Nexus 5 as my daily driver, but this did just happen to me. I've been testing Marshmallow and at one point it dropped from around 75% to 15% in maybe an hour.

On edit, yeah there is definitely something going on with the wireless. After being turned off for 14 hours, wifi has used 14% battery. At least I think WiFi is turned off....

I've only had 6.0 for about 26 hours since the OTA. My first impression is that the wireless effect on battery life is the same as it was on Lollipop, but the battery usage report is flaky.

after some playing with, I'm starting to think that the wifi is reporting battery usage for all wireless activity, not only wifi as it should....

I thought my battery was wonky until I realized the screen had been on for over two hours while I played with Android 6. When I went back to normal usage I had no problem.

It's two days now, and I'm starting to believe this "doze" feature is for real. The battery simply does not run down when the phone sits on the desk or nightstand untouched for several hours. My WiFi is always on

I am realizing the same thing today. Agreed - Doze works!!!!

Same here with WiFi turned off.
So, is it just wonky battery usage report or WiFi really consumes 14% of the battery?
To me it looks like the report is wrong, because battery now hold better in spite of report showing high usage by WiFi.

I think it's false reporting in the stock battery usage app. GSam Battery Monitor shows normal consumption for wifi, at least on my 5.

After I did a factory reset, the WiFi usage dropped to the bottom of the list. I think it is/was a reporting error.

I had it disappear for a while after Resetting Network Settings, but it later returned.
Factory Reset....*shudder*. But if there is no 6.0.1 fix for it in the near future, I guess that may be the answer.

I have the opposite problem. My N5 is constantly disconnecting from wifi. I'll randomly look at my phone and the wifi icon is missing, and then after a second or two the phone will connect to the wifi network like normal. This happens all the time.

so it looks like there was more things wrong than I thought, and it's still not working well; we got the update on my Wife's N5 OTA and it seemed to work a lot better; I reset it and set it up identical to mine and over night battery drain for it brought it down to 96% where as mine was down to 91-92%. by the time I'd get to work, mine would be down to under 70% while listening to music via BT headset, while hers was still going "strong" at 85%.

I decided to try and reset my network settings, and it crashed settings (had to force close). on the wife's it was fine

at the same time, an update from the store tried to come through and said I didn't have enough space?? Checked and it said that I had uses over just under 12GB of just over 12GB of space.....Very strange because I'm supposed to have a 32GB model...

So, I backed up everything again, reimaged the device again and so far battery life seems to be going better, and similar to the wife's device. I'm now showing 32GB, so that's a sigh of relief, but when I try to reset network settings, it still crashes settings...Not sure how to get around that. Wife's device resets fine at the very least. But in any case, battery seems to be working more like it used to now, so will monitor it over the next couple days and see what happens...
