Android 6 and wifi

Marshmallow had not changed my Nexus 5 battery life much, except that Doze seemed to be prolonging the battery when the phone was left idle. However, the WiFi percentages of battery were very high - 25 to 50%. I chalked it up to flaky reporting because the phone was fine.

On Sunday morning, the phone suddenly rebooted itself - it was sitting on the wireless charging pad and I wasn't touching it. Since then, WiFi (always on, never turned off) is only taking 2% of battery consumption, with my battery at 60% after 1 day 2 hours (only 1 hr 30 mins screen time). So I'm more convinced that Doze works, and I'm speculating that the sudden reboot came from some kind of update from Google Play services that fixed the battery usage display.
