Android being stretched too thin?

Anyone feel that Android is being stretched too thin and spread out way too far and wide?

Not sure about you, but I'm not liking all the customizations, devices(tv's, cars, what's next, refridgerators?), places that Android is being taken.

I think Google needs to get ahold of it before it becomes a thorn in their side.

No! nor do I want to worry that my fridge is sending back my personal eating habbits and what food I eat to a marketing company!

In all seriousness though.. why are these companies putting so much time into custom skins, and then their own app stores?? why can't they use Google's?

Not enough choices is also frustrating...but so is too many choices.

The way I see it is, the wider it's spread, the less they can pay attention to problems with specific products
