Old pillars overlooking downtown

Structural pillars obviously provide practical benefit as a replacement for complete walls, but of course they often prove to be aesthetically-pleasing parts of a building's design as well. Whether the building is old or new, we're sure you'll be able to take some really interesting pictures of pillars in the next two weeks.

Your entries will be in the running for one of three Aukey Quick Charge 2.0 10400mAh Portable External Battery packs!

Entering is easy. Just drop your entry in a post below. Tell us what Android you used to get the picture, and any back story you want to add to it. We'll pick a winner Tuesday (November 3) night at 11:59 p.m. ET, and announce them on the blog with the next contest.

  • Pictures must be taken with an Android device
  • Pictures must be uploaded to the contest thread. I'm not running all over the Internet to track them down.
  • You have to tell us what device you used to take the picture, and any special software you might have used. Editing your pictures is fine — this is art.
  • Feel free to add a little back story — we want to know how the picture came to be.
  • You must have used a valid email address to register here at AC, so I know how to contact the winner.
  • Only one entry per contest per person.

Good luck, everyone!

How do you post a picture using the AC app? I choose my pic from Google Photos but it says "can't upload attachment" :-(

You can't. Tons of us have been having this issue for months and it has yet to be fixed. Really annoying. I can't enter the contest because of it

I've had this issue a few times as well. My solution? Email the picture to yourself (or upload to cloud), get to a desktop/laptop, and upload to AC using the website on the browser. It's not ideal, certainly, but it will get the job done. :)

Phone: Moto X 2013, auto HDR, no editing
Location: Chichen Itza, Yucatan, Mexico. Taken on my honeymoon last year.

"The Temple of a Thousand Pillars" - all of them have images of warriors carved into them. Used to have a roof that collapsed long ago.

Here's my entry. When all those people busy with their big DSLR shooting skyscrapers across the river from The Bund in Shanghai, I've took this one with my HTC One M8 last summer, used native HTC Photo Editor.

Taken with Nexus 6, which does fabulous in HDR mode if you have a still subject.

HELLO... I used my Moto G 3rd Gen to take this one; it's just a day in the beach, i try to take something different every time i go. The app was the stock motorola's camera.
Good Luck to everyone.IMG_20151018_140621477_HDR.jpg

We found this beautiful church ruins on a road trip between Charleston and Savannah Georgia. It was built in the 1750s and is surrounded by these ancient trees. I used my classic Nexus 5 to take this picture.IMG_20141020_161320.jpg
