Why is it the hottest phone.
Because it was forged by the dark lord himself in the tremendous fires of the crack of doom to be used by him to bring dominion over the free people with it's 1GH OMAP (Overlord Master of Accesible People) and with it's ability to subdue the weak of mind with it's 4.3" display.

It's a barebones Android device, which means Froyo will come much sooner for it. Not to mention the hardware is better than what my Eris offers. I can only imagine how much more productive I'd be with the Moto X!
The Droid X is the hottest phone on the market this year because I will be using it so much that the battery is going to smoke!
I love the idea of shooting video in 720p of my kids from my phone, and then being able to instantly watch it on my HDTV via HDMI.

This phone to me is an amazing phone that will most likely beat the EVO which I love. But if I were to win this I would give it to my Girlfriend who bought a Droid Incredible and had it stolen from her house just 2 days after getting it 
. She can't afford another and is back to using her EnV touch. This phone would be better then her incredible and make her never think about it again and help her stop sulking over getting it stolen from her, among other things.

So cool of you guys to give one up! Thank you! I need a Droid X for a lot of reasons, but one is for aviation. I am a pilot and there a a bunch of great apps for pilots out there which I can't use on my fossilized Moto Q9c. These apps would allow me to get weather, file flight plans and see approach charts. WAY cool. Having the speed, size and features of the X would make these and other apps a HUGE shift for the better over what I have had. Need the X in a big way!
Motorola had the right idea with the first device, this one can only be better! Big screen means big things!!
This is a phone that I was thinking would be hot when I chose my Eris and wish it was available than.
With a bigger 4.3-inch screen, I can read my Java Programming books much easier on the go and with a 1 Ghz TI OMAP 3630 processor it is sure to load them faster too.
The 8MP camera will let me ditch 6MP Digital Camera I currently use when I backpack. I know it defaults to 6MP, but it also Geo-tags. And hey its got 720p resolution on the video.
Thats all it needs to be the best phone of the year, but wait, there's more. HDMI port. Don't worry I'll find one. You can bet on that.
The look of it is just sexy. The hump for the camera is just awesomeness. Especaiy since I currently get my grubby fingers all over my Eris camera all the time. And sometimes bigger is better. The Droid X proves it.
It's on the best network out there. I love Verizon. They have always allowed me to poke fun at my T-mobile, Sprint, and AT&T friends. From not getting a signal at all to not connecting to 3g while I am have nothing but smooth connections.
It is sad that my upgrade is now 14 months away. Oh to have this on my hands. I drool in anticiaption.

I think it's going to be the hottest phone for many reasons. It has 4.3 inch screen. 1 ghz processor which is very quick. It comes with 24 gb memory preinstalled. double the ram the original droid had. 8mp camera. 720p video record. Mobile wifi hotspot (subscription required). It will be able to update to froyo soon and b much faster..my favorite is the battery manager..it has 8 hrs talk time..more than any smart phone available. Droid X also has hdmi output so u can watch hi def vids from your phone on ya tv.I cant wait for it to come out.Amazing phone.

Taking on the Droid X would ensure a complete transition for my fiance to the world of droid.

I travel the east coast for work, and enjoy everything the Droid provides me, and my customers. It's time to get this Droid X from AndroidCentral.com, and give the Incredible to my future wife..

The Motorola Droid X is the phone of the year simply because there is no other phone that could possibly be developed in 2010 that will surpass the X!
The larger screen would be fantastic when showing my 87 grandmother videos and pics. She has Alzheimer's so i show her a lot of videos and pics to keep her familar with the family.

Finally a phone on Verizon with the RIGHT SIZED SCREEN. I want a Droid X and would love to win one. If I don't win I will have to find a way to scrape together the cash and buy one; this is a phone capable of video and other media that can really utilize that screen real estate. I dont mind a larger phone if I get the benefit of a 4.3" screen. Also it has the processing power to keep up with the Froyo updates to come etc.

It's pretty clear why it's the best phone of the year. It may not have the highest resolution of smartphones now with the iPhone taking the crown, but it's screen size is what steals that crown back. You don't need a ridiculous amount of pixels when you can't even really perceive the difference.
The screen is tied for the largest on a smartphone (for the regular market, those crazy Koreans/Chinese people have even bigger screens I bet). You'll get the most real estate out of any phone and it, paired with it's new processor and 3D chip is set to take the crown as the best gaming platform as well, already showing it can blow other phones out of the water in terms of gaming performance.
Not only is it the fastest phone out (faster than the Snapdragons out there), it's backed by the nations best and most reliable network (sounding like the commercial). Owning an Android phone is all about the performance you get from it, and when your phone can put the iPhone to shame with the speed, size of the screen and reliable network, I think you've got a winner for the year.

Because I'd like to put Ubuntu on it and all I'd have to carry with me is a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and the hdmi cable and I'd have my computer with me every where I go. That is, with the latest and greatest Cyanogen Mod with it.
Oh also because I need to show my dad up. He thinks he's so awesome with his iPad and his iPod Touch. He's getting an X and I honestly think that'll put him over the edge with thinking he's more advanced than me. DROID DOES!!!
